hows it going bro? seems we may be in the minority :D

No you're not, this is the one I was the least looking forward to hear and I'm extremely pleasantly surprised by the clip... sure it does sounds like a classic U2 pop song, but it sounds like it could be a damn good one.

probably. it's been described as the poppiest/easiest to digest so i'm sure interference will hate it

no, but really, that song sounds great to me.

Moment of Surrender sounds a lot like Your Blue Room to me. I like it. I like every one of these clips. White as Snow grabs me the least, but it seems like a somber song, so that's probably difficult to have justice done to it by a 30 second clip.

Although they are only 30 sec clips there doesn't appear to be any truely weak song on the album.

hm....I don't know...
I was expecting something new....not maybe groundbreaking but new for U2...and than I hear pure classic Edge :)
a bit of boy, a bit of UF, a bit of "streets".

I only listened to it once and now I'm waiting for the album... :)

Cedars of Lebanon sounds like Leonard Cohen to me.....and I like it.

I listened once. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it that way. Everything sounds soooooo cool and awesome and everything everyone else has said. I think within the context of full songs, GOYB will be fine. Seems it'll be a bit of an "anti-breather".

The whole time I was listening to the clips, the only thing going through my mind other than, "Finally!" and, "Awesome!" was Lanois' quote (which we've heard 9,423 times) of electro + hand played instruments. Sheesh, LOL.

30 sec song for song impressions

The original thread is getting a little busy, so how about a sit down, calm track by track reaction, no request, just that

(if thread unneeded then close)

NLOTH
Sounds interesting, slow build up, and im mostly interested in hearing the rest, not completly sold

Magnificent
Sold, new classic, at least for me, my favorite album track just became Magnificent

MOS
Im a little dissapointed, its 30 secs, but still, i dont see it going nowhere

Unknown Caller
since i think this is just the intro, im curious to listen to the rest, but im not THAT excited, love the sunshine

Crazy Tonight
Its ok, it true that is u2 in auto in this album, but sound like good u2 in auto

GOYB
After hearing the rest, it goes from grat, to just ok, kinda like vertigo, so, its weird i loved, now, not so much

Stand up comedy
My second favorite, love the lyric and the delivery, i really REALLY wanna hear it live

FEZ
Zooropa reborn, nuff said

White as Snow
Sounds nostalgic, and deep, i love the simple guitar layers

Breathe
Dylan-esque, love it

Cedars
Nice monologue thing, i hope it stay on monotone mode, like a dead song to end a great album

After promising myself I wouldn't listen to clips like this, I saw this thread title and immediately listened, lol. So much for willpower

But, wow!!! NLOTH sounds unreal! And they all sound incredible...

"One day she's still / the next she swells / You can hear the universe / in her seashells"

Initially sounds more "adult comtemporary" that what I was hoping for. I've heard more innovative sounds on Vive La Vida. :reject:

Oh well, I hope the lyrics are thought-provoking and I'm sure it's a classic. I remember what Bono said "There's blood in the music, not tinsel."

Oh yeah and the descriptions of low-tempo songs had me down because the low tempo songs on the last two albums suck but hell, they are pretty good from what I can tell on this one (Moment of Surrender sounds intense)
