GOYB on Itunes Monday?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
maybe they are only releasing it in the US so everyone has to buy it there which will guarantee them a no1 us single?

IF it works. First i'll check the AUS store and if its not there i'll switch as a last resort. It better be on the Aus store. :madwife:

it probably won't let you do that- have tried buying things from o/s I-tunes before in it will force back to your local i-tunes- it's very annoying-

Don't worry, Australia. Worst-case scenario, there'll be a request thread for the iTunes-quality version.
But, honestly, I hope you guys don't have to go to all that trouble. Blue Crackheads on all continents should be able to hear the new single legally and hassle-free! Besides, it's not like it costs them money to upload the damn thing to the iTunes store...

Hmm, interesting point.

Yeah, i've heard about that before.

I hope so, I just hope they do.

I've tried to buy from US i-tunes before and it simply won't let you do it- it may be because it knows my i-pod is registered here in the UK that's stopping it- but I don't think thats the case- I'm fairly sure it's a licensing thing- and the pricing structure is different- as usual it's more expensive here in the UK than elsewhere (or at least it used to be)

iTunes won't let you use a foreign credit card. ie UK cards won't work in US.

The easiest way to get around this is by using gift cards bought in that country's currency. eg. go to eBay US site and buy a US$ gift card - then get the seller to email you the code on the back (you don't need the card).

Simply create a new iTunes account with the US$ gift card and start buying.

I live in Australia and have accounts in Australia, UK and US using eBay acquired cards. And usually you can get gift cards for face value (sometimes less) and there's no postage.

I don't know if this means anything major, but iTunes is now saying that the album is no longer available in the US store.

It's never said that to me before.

I don't get that..I dont go through the whole ordering process but it lets you click on preorder...

This morning, I could get into the album page and as far as the very last step before the order would be processed before I got an error. Now I get the error message when I click on the link that would take me to the error page. Maybe they took the album page down so they can fill in what the bonus tracks will be for tomorrow?

So do we have a conclusive answer on whether or not the song will be available tomorrow on iTunes yet? I know there was one press release that said it would be, but all other evidence seems to point to a big NO. The fact that they are streaming the song on U2.com doesn't really bode well either.

Tonight (around 11 pm East Coast US), Itunes put up a "Deluxe Edition" of NLOTH (it comes up when you search for the album title; it is not currently on the U2 Itunes page). They're listing it at $17.99. The regular edition still comes up at $9.99. You can't actually see the tracklisting for either album when you try to click on each one, at least not now. I wonder what the $17.99 version is all about...:hmm:

Probably includes LINEAR.

West Coast, 11:58. Don't see that, and actually nothing comes up when I search for "No Line." I found the single by searching "Get On your Boots," which included a "Buy Song" tab. When I click on the album for the song, I go to the regular album homepage.

Don't know what's happening, but it's sure fun trying to figure it out...

Just pre-ordered the "Deluxe Edition" on iTunes, it downloaded GOYB immediately. Now to wait for the rest. :dancing:

This edition includes the iTunes exclusive track, the pre-order only bonus track, Linear, a digital booklet, and digital booklet collector's magazine. (?)

Now to listen to the new song.

edit: You can buy just the single if you want too.

Fucking Universal!

I don't wanna pre-order the digital album, I just wanna buy the single!
