yo', how goes, chass? tell me an interesting story.
Okay. I grew up in a haunted house. See, it was a really old house, and the second floor used to just be an apartment. There was no central heat or air up there, and since the first floor was plenty big enough, we only used the second floor for storage, plus a game room with a pool table and stuff. Most of the ghostly activity was secluded to the second floor.
So anyway. Most of the really ghostly occurrences went down before I was born/when I was really little, and so the stories come to me secondhand, but I do have some very early memories of stuff, plus I was scared to go upstairs by myself until I was a teenager.

The first scary story happened to my dad. He couldn't sleep, so he was going to go upstairs to play some 8 tracks. While up there, he was sure he heard a kid crying for their daddy. Assuming it was one of us, he went downstairs, but everyone was fast asleep. He was just about to go back up the stairs, when he heard it again... coming from upstairs.
Another thing happened to my oldest sister who was pretty young. She woke up in the night and saw an old man sitting on her bed with his ankles crossed. She said he was wearing a 'funny white dress'. Days later she saw someone on TV in a hospital gown and identified that as what the man had been wearing.
Other things included: voices being heard, lights turning off and on when no one was around, hearing doors opening and closing. And one occurrence when my mom was waiting up for my dad to come home from work (he worked late.) She'd been sitting in a rocking chair in the living room when she got up to go get something to drink. When she came back, the rocking chair had been turned upside down, though no one had been in there.

The one thing I do clearly remember experiencing firsthand was one of the oddest. Know how they say ghosts don't know they're dead? Well, ours hung around upstairs... and played pool. From downstairs all the usual sounds of a game of pool being played could clearly be heard. This included footsteps, the cues tapping the floor, and the sounds of the balls hitting eachother and rolling about.
It all stopped by the time we'd lived there about 9 years. Either because they just got used to us, or because a very religious friend of the family may have been specifically praying about our house. I don't know.

Years went by, and then when I was 19, we finally moved out of that house. A couple days after we'd initially left, we came back to get a few things we'd left behind. My mom went toward the kitchen, and I went toward my old room. Both were beside each other at the back of the house, though I had to go through the hallway to get to my room.
Simultaneously as we each entered into the two rooms, we both felt something. It felt like a static-y touch going up the side of my arm. Almost like somebody stroking me there, but there was no one physically there. When it happened, it freaked me out, but I didn't say anything, and then my mom was calling for me from the kitchen, telling me she'd felt something. I yelled back that I'd felt it too, and we met in the dining room (halfway) to describe it to one another. We'd felt the same touch at the same time. Mom says maybe the ghosts were saying goodbye to us.

Okay. I grew up in a haunted house...

Dude!! That was great!! I'm absolutely fascinated by ghost stories. I'm trying to decide if I believe in them, and I think I do, well, spirits at least, and any time someone mentions one I am just fascinated. Did your mum freak out and shit when the rocking chair was turned upside down?
