Not a whole lot. You seen some beach clips of new U2 songs have leaked? Not sure if you're interested in that stuff.

I'm struggling to stay awake watching delayed coverage of Australia vs South Africa rugby. Damn Olympics coverage. Though I was enjoying watching the javelin and diving they were showing when the rugby was actually on live ...

Yeah....i got the 5th clip. I try my best to avoid the hype of the build up to a release....all the arguing! Failed badly this time.

Didn't realise the Uni was playing, I might put it on. I've been glued to the Olympics with having time off work and some difficult nights with new baby. Watched most things apart from girls gymnastics. Just glad Gary Glitter wasn't released until it had finished!

I've been unwell lately, bit of a nasty flu, so I've watched heaps of the Olympics too. Didn't think I would, but it was the only thing worth watching on TV and I got hooked. Good call on Gary Glitter!

Nah, not yet. Had one beer on to number two which will be my last. I had a nap this afternoon and I've felt just great ever since..

I'm a bit cautious though, as usually these moods rarely last long... but hey I'll take it.

How are things with you?

I'm really digging both Nil Recurring and Ghost Reveries. I don't know why I've been ignoring Opeth all these years. Their style is right up my alley. I love growls mixed with clean vocals. And he has to have one of the smoothest clean vocals out there.

I'm not bad, stayed up too late watching a rather poor game of rugby.

Yeah, I'm surprised you weren't into Opeth already, they're one of the bands who I would expect you to love. Mikael Akerfeldt is an absolute sensational vocalist; I find him to be one of the most comprehensible growlers. You must get Still Life and Blackwater Park - masterpieces, the both of them.

Yes, Blackwater Park was the one I wanted to get first but I couldn't find it anywhere. Ghost Reveries was on sale.. and then I found Nil Recurring and I had to get that as well. Ghost of Perdition is what.. over ten minutes long.. I think PT and Opeth could do a tour together..

Steven Wilson and Mikael Akerfeldt have definite plans to work on a side project together. Kind of hard to say when it will happen since they both have such intense schedules, but it's been talked about for a while; it may also include Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater. All three of the guys are good friends.

What'd you think of Nil Recurring? I'm quite fond of both Normal and What Happens Now.

I'm loving Nil Recurring. I had it on today when I was doing dishes.. and I was already rocking out to it. I'm just going to have to order in the other albums.. care to mention their names agaiN? So I'm able to get them... I was sirp[rosed the little local independant shop didn;t have anutong by them. I was thinking they'd be my best best. Bet. best bet.

Yeah, In Absentia is widely regarded as the band's classic. Stupid Dream is my personal favourite, and I'd also highly recommend Deadwing to you.

Really not sure about using Amazon without a credit card, as that's all I've ever used, I'm afraid! Maybe you can use PayPal or something? I've never looked into how PayPal works though ... never needed to.

You know, I've always thought it'd be fucking amazing if U2 snippeted PT's This Is No Rehearsal at the end of The Fly. It would work ideally. Though you don't have Stupid Dream, so you still don't know what song I mean. Damn. It's a quality song, one of my favourites on the album.

Hi guys Graftoon St... I think I went there, and Tower Records. I wasn't terribly impressed with Ireland when I went. In fact, I think I'd be rather happy to not go back. The only interesting thing in that whole town (Dublin) was the old mummies which you can actually touch. I really don't want to offend any Irish people, but I think this site had built Ireland up and it just didn't live up to any ideal I must have set.

I need to have a shower, get dressed, PM the historian (which will take longer than I have time for lately because it involves crank starting my rusted brain), and make lunch for the ferals.
