Anyone get anything from the band?

I cant help but ask. Im a huge collector of memorabilia but memorabilia thats personal to me. Honestly, I wouldnt mind knowing where to stand to get something like a Guitar Pick from the Edge or Adam or a drum stick from Larry or especially, Bono's harmonica! I know merch. is cool but you can always buy that from the site, Id love to have a shot at something they use during the show.

Has anyone left the show with anything cool like that?

Dallas gave my friend a bottle of Edge's water after CHI1 and another friend got a set list from TO1....

bottle of water is not quite a drumstick or harmonica or anything, but i'd pretty much keep that bottle in my shrine and squee each time i looked at it.

...maybe that's just the Edge lover in me :D

I got a one of Edge's U2 blue picks after the Saturday show, and I got an orange Snow Patrol pick on Sunday.

Dallas tossed a few out after the show. If it is a two night city, you have a better chance after the first show because they didn't have to start packing everything up for the next city.

Good luck.

Here are a few pics.

I've seen pics of people with set lists and saw Dallas give a pick.

I've seen people ask Sam for a drumstick and he brings one out (he's sometimes wandering around on the floor before the show).

I was going to give my ticket stub to someone on here asking for one but my dog ate it!

My friend had a backstage pass for Manchester on the VT tour, and he got bonos sunglasses. Truly amazing!

Dallas gave me an Adam pick once. And he gave my friend The Edge's.:love:
We weren't even asking him for them, and he just gave them to us. This was during Elevation Tour and we were standing outside the Philly Wachovia Arena (then called the Corestates Arena, I believe), and I saw him walking to one of the trucks. I called him over to ask him to give Larry a birthday card I had made and to tell the guys to have a good time. He sweetly said, he would definitely tell them and pass the card on to Larry. Then he went inside the truck. A moment later he came out, and he walked towards us, and started handing out the picks.

Dallas is always soooo nice to the fans...

Oh, and I got a hug from The Edge outside Boston's Fleet Center in 2005. But wait, that's not a collectible, is it? Or maybe it is... :sexywink:

So cool! Where do you guys look for Dallas? Is he just on stage after the show and tosses stuff out or do you have to wait until they are packing up outside?

When he is sound checking Edge's guitars he usually walks around the ellipse ramp and then tosses the pick out there. Then sometimes after the show if you beg or look longingly, the crew will toss the picks and stuff that was left on the stage.

Once someone I know saw Sam before the show and asked for a drum stick, he went back, got one, and brought it back to her. I am not that bold, but I guess if you are on a first name basis with the crew, it can't hurt to ask!

Dallas dropped a pick on my head at the end of Chicago 2. He was on the bridge, and i am sure he meant to throw it to someone else in the crowd (or at least i hope he wasn't aiming to hit me, hahaha), but it ended up bouncing off of my head and hitting the floor in front of the stage. :giggle: Security picked it up and then gave it to a fan.

Dallas will be on stage before and after the show. Sometimes even during the show (like when it's raining). He does the set up for The Edge's side.

That one time I talked to him in 2001, it was a chance meeting. I wasn't even originally looking for him. My friend and I were at the barricades, waiting for U2 to come, hoping that they would do a meet and greet at the entrance to Wachovia Center. I was hoping to give Larry the card myself. After a 2-hr wait, it was inching towards showtime, and the possibility of the band having time to stop and chat with us was diminishing, and suddenly I saw Dallas walking out on the ramp. I figured maybe he would be nice enough to pass my card on to Larry. So I actually just got lucky... :)

But like the others said, sometimes he would toss picks out when he's doing sound checks after the opening band's done.

Well they definitely like children because last night they gave out two things to us on the rail in Red Zone 1. My twelve year old daughter was given Bono's lyric sheet by one of U2's security people. No not the venue security but the big guy with the bald head and goatee who escorts U2 everywhere. It was from the song when Bono is singing about Irish Boy and contains references to TO that they added...i.e. Irish boy...irisih boy...kiss and ride on the TTC...Irish boy...irish boy...hand in hand on Yonge Street...etc. Her 11 year old rail mate was given a U2 360 pick by Dallas.

well I got a setlist at each of the concerts I went to. but my friend actually got the tour itinerary from Paul McGuinness, which he really isn't supposed to have and we still have no clue why Paul would give it to him. it's a REALLY nice book though, and has all the info in it you'd want to have, everyone that works on the tour is listed in there and everything and it has little poems and stuff in there as well. what I loved most about it was the baggage-tags, where Bono was No. 1, Edge No. 2 and Larry and Adam came at 10 or something

See. Drummers and bass players = disposable. ;)

I got a pick from Dallas during the first show in Chicago. I saw him walking out of the red zone and simply asked him for one. I've gotten a lot of picks by asking the guitar techs for various artists. They are easier to access than the artists :)

I think I about passed out when the crew guy gave it to me.

I like that they refer to ISHFWILF as "Still Haven't Found", just like we do.
