Not up to Ep. 5 yet, but I'm amazed how the show has sucked me in emotionally.
It's not a perfect show, but I was barely through the Pilot or early in the 2nd Ep. before I started caring about all of the characters.

Very good so far.

I'm still barely holding onto my red herring theory, despite the evidence they're plying on.

the last episode was a bit sub-par, not as good as the earlier ones.

It didn't hold my attention like the past episodes, but I had just blamed that on the fact that I was researching Dublin bus routes at the same time.

Oops.

Too much politics in the last one IMO.

And there's no way that this current suspect is guilty, unless they leave him alone, go after someone else, and then it turns out to be him anyway. Which is totally fucking lame.

My speculative opinion on who did it?

The father's co-worker/partner. He seems to have more significant screen time than is necessary, and his closeness to the family and criminal connections give him more motive. The daughter probably found out something about him or he tried to put the moves on her unsuccessfully and got angry.

that's not my pick
I won't put mine up, unless he or she is completely absolved and I know I am wrong.

It was probably:

Maggie Simpson

That's a compelling choice.

BTW--I'm digging new detective Stephen Holder more every episode. Great character.

Also, is this series only 13 episodes? Because I jumped in late, I haven't heard. I assume so because it would be lame to keep it going.

Anyone still watching? I think it's gotten a little dull after a strong start. Will keep watching, because I want to know whodunnit.

The last episode was the weakest, it really slipped a couple of notches down, the writing, that is.

That said, no one can say who the killer is (for sure), the cast does not even know.

here is a nice little interview with Mee-ray.

Interesting that they mentioned she's married to Alan Ruck (a.k.a. Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day Off) and living in Los Feliz, because me and my friend saw Ruck at a health food store there last year.

The previous couple of episodes dragged a bit, but I thought Stonewalled did a nice job of bringing the emotion back. Mitch was great.

Okay, can they do away with the political plot?
If it doesn't turn out to be absolutely integral to the killer/etc. somehow, it will be very annoying.
The turn-a-on-dime negative campaigning to don't go negative in the span of 1-3 days? Dumb.
