I must be the only person who finds it creepy that there are grown women drooling over a 17yr old boy.
Oh yeah for sure. They are acting insane. It's just a couple of fictional books with movies made about them. The characters are not real and these ppl are acting like the actors in the movies are the best ppl in the world. Like cmon, they just play these characters for crying out loud
These mothers are not setting a good example for their kids at all. Some of the crazy ones are basically teaching their daughters that it's okay for an older women to go after a teenage boy
I'm definitely not into the whole craze. It's just ridiculous. I'm just a fan of the books themselves and I like seeing the books come to life with the movies.
When I went to see New Moon on Tuesday it was insanity. The show didn't open til 6 but my friends and I got there at 5:45 just to avoid the lines and stuff. Well there were tons of ppl outside and when they opened the door I got pushed so many times because ppl were running into the theatre. It's just a movie ppl
If you've suspected that there's something unhealthy about the relationship between Bella and Edward in the phenomenally successful Twilight series, then it turns out that you're exactly right. In fact, there are fifteen examples of unhealthiness.
Livejournal user kar3ning was reminded of something after going to see New Moon recently:
According to the National Domestic Violence hotline, these are some signs that you may be in an emotionally or physically abusive relationship.
Does your partner:
* Look at you or act in ways that scare you?
Check.
* Control what you do, who you see or talk to or where you go?
"Stay away from the werewolves. I love you."
* Make all of the decisions?
Check.
* Act like the abuse is no big deal, it's your fault, or even deny doing it?
"If I wasn't so attracted to you, I wouldn't have to break up with you."
* Threaten to commit suicide?
"I just can't live without you. In fact, I'll run to Italy and try suicide by vampire if anything happens to you."
* Threaten to kill you?
On their first date.
These are some more signs of an abusive relationship.
Has your partner...
* Tried to isolate you from family or friends.
Bella doesn't have time for anyone else!
* Damaged property when angry (thrown objects, punched walls, kicked doors, etc.).
Check.
* Pushed, slapped, bitten, kicked or choked you.
Does tossing her through a glass table count?
* Abandoned you in a dangerous or unfamiliar place.
"We're breaking up. And I'm leaving you in the forest."
* Scared you by driving recklessly.
Check.
* Forced you to leave your home.
She had to run away with him to flee from the other vampires in the first movie, and she had to drop everything and run to Italy in the second.
* Prevented you from calling police or seeking medical attention.
Check. Even in the hospital, nothing is a big deal.
* Views women as objects and believes in rigid gender roles.
Well, they are Mormon... (I know, I know, cheap shot.)
* Accuses you of cheating or is often jealous of your outside relationships.
Check, wolf-boy.
Now I'm pissed. According to the NDVH, "If you answered ‘yes' to even one of these questions, you may be in an abusive relationship." This list is fifteen.
We'd be interested in hearing Stephenie Meyer's (Or even some Twihards') response to this, but somehow don't imagine that one is forthcoming.
When I went opening night to see the movie the older ones were acting worse than the teenagers. Sat near a lady who was around 40 that whistled and hollered out when Jacob took his shirt off. Unfortunately it wasn't the only time she did that either. I have never carried on like that nor will I ever. Im just there to see one of my favorite books come to life in a movie.
Btw that's sheer craziness with what happened when you went to the movie. It is people like this that give us normal fans a bad name.
Went and saw New Moon again last night. I have to say I loved it even more the 2nd time around.
agreed! 2nd time was muuuuch better! theater was not crowded and there were no obnoxious tweens panting next to me.

This Twilight movie series is gaining hype just like another Harry Potter series, whoopdeedoo!!!
I'd like to apologize for all the shit I've ever said about Taylor Lautner.
He did a pretty soild job hosting SNL, and he was interacting with the audience durning the commerical breaks...
And I got to give him a high five!

From what I have seen of him in interviews he seems like a pretty nice guy
