I never claimed there wasn't. Just showing that Iraq and Iraqi's exist just as much as Bosnia and Bosnians.

You said: "Was there ever Bosnia or a Bosnian?" I don't believe I misinterpreted you.

the definition of a Civil War rests upon two factors:

1. two warring groups withing a particular country are fighting for control of the political center, control over a separatist state, or to force a major change in policy

2. at least 1000 people must have been killed in total, with at least 100 from each side.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_war

clearly, Iraq meets these definitions.
The war in Iraq is not a Civil War according to the United States military which has been involved in several of them and understands conditions on the ground there better than just about any other organization or group in the world.

In any you event, you must agree that Afghanistan is also a "Civil War" based on the above definitions which you believe, correct?

Where is the Democratic party's demand that the United States withdraw from Afghanistan, a conflict which is a "civil war" and not "our war"? Why is the Democratic party so obsessed with withdrawal from Iraq where Al Quada is more active, but not from Afghanistan where Al Quada activity almost does not exist?

Maybe she's forgotten she's on camera but Speaker Pelosi looks like she's trying to dislodge some popcorn stuck between her teeth.

Dikembe Mutombo just got a standing O. If he's on your fantasy basketball team, you are not applauding him.

Headlines on CNN are all about Bush supporting AIDS help in Africa:

Bush urges aid for Africa

President Bush tonight used his State of the Union speech to try to find support for what has become a widely unpopular war in Iraq. He also turned his attention to Africa, asking Congress to help fund programs for HIV/AIDS and malaria patients and battling poverty.

Ironic eh?

The best part of his speech was when he said "Madame Speaker" for the first time...

gee I wonder who urged him to fund more money for these programs... Could it be>>>

What was the dollar amount? I thought I heard something like 1.3 billion over so many years.. Anyone have details.. ?

I was upstairs getting ready for bed and overheard that part of the speech and obviously perked up and went downstairs..

I asked the question after the person I was responding to questioned the existence of Iraq. Obviously, Iraq and Iraqi's exist just as much as Bosnia and Bosnians. If Iraq does not exist, then neither does Bosnia.

State Of The Union

I was sitting here, forced to watch the State Of The Union. And for anybody that knows me, you know how Anti Bush I am, so needless to say I was cussing out and throwing shit at the T.V. But what really set me off was when Bush said we need to send aid to Africa and to nations in poverty. I’ve been pushing for that to happen for the past 4 years, involved in MANY campaigns.
But this is the same Dumb as that resisted a British proposal for wealthy nations to service World Bank debt on behalf of poorer countries! And Bush is STILL not on pace to fulfill his 2003 pledge of $15 billion in development aid to Africa! And reaching this goal is VERY unlikely because Bush lacks the political will and gives priority to domestic needs. The U.S. devotes the lowest percentage of gross national income in foreign aid out of the 22 richest countries in the organization for economic co-operation and development.

I don't like Bush any more than the next person, but it's not totally his decision how much aid gets sent where. If I'm not mistaken, Congress has not passed the bills that would accomplish the original goal.
