I suppose I can do my part as well.
1. Who do you admire, and why should I admire that person?
Bono, the greatest rock frontman ever. Also, faithful to his high school sweetheart in spite of all the temptation.
2. If you could convince Bono to believe in something, what would it be?
That MTV needs him and the rest of the guys, I think that would make a lot of people happy, anywho.
3. Can evolution and creation co-exist?
This is a trick question to some degree. One belief is that the earth is some billions - of years old, and that we evolved from chimpanzees. The other is that the earth is some thousands of years old, and that we were created by dust.
Evolution wouldn't generally be praised in a church, creation would never be acknowledged in the classroom.
Some take the Bible to be inerrant and literal. Others take it quite loosely. Moses' sources could be under questioning. Ancient scholars vs. modern scholars. One has to wonder - to which degree did it come from God - and to which degree did it come from his relience on scholars.
Personally, I don't subscribe to the chimp theory. It seems to be clearly independant. Somehow over time, the claim is that we ended up walking on two feet. We went from having genitals less than one inch to multiples of that. We went from sex from front to back to front to front over time.
Other than that, I'm not totally sure. I think far too much is unknown about science to claim an absolution to the entirety of Darwin's theory. I think some principles may be true, but I'm no absolutionist on it.
4. What would you die for, and why?
My faith, my family, my lover, my friends, and my most passionate among my beliefs. Perhaps the consideration holds that if you can take a bullet, your ideas will live on. For the lives of tens, hundreds, thousands, or millions of people, I would go down. I'd be clearly outnumbered. To end all threats of global terrorism, for example, if it meant that many could live for the sake of my death, I'd be honored. For the capture of Osama bin Laden, the honor in the bullet is endless. Like the saying goes, if you have nothing to die for, you have nothing to live for. I know, I'm a nut.
5. What do you do that gives you self-esteem and confidence in yourself?
I am careful when it comes to absolution, I question life as a small child would, I question my own thoughts, but I stick to my true self and my most sincere among my beliefs.
In my spare time - working out, eating reasonably healthy. I think it would be even better for myself if I got more sleep.
