You are contradicting yourself, A. In an earlier post you said:

"I feel that there is no distinction between a human life and a potential human life"

You can argue it's not a religious issue, I may buy that, but it most definately isn't a science issue.
Oh yes it is. Since we have laws in this country to protect innocent human life, it all boils down to when human life begins, and of course, that is a biological issue.

What makes you think I didn't understand you? Simply because I didn't obey you?

Quote in context
Quote:
I feel that there is no distinction between a human life and a potential human life; that the ideology of these groups will never be able to make such a distinction - so their opposition to abortion will run through every stage.
I was referring to the attitude among these groups, I do see a distinction but feel that anti-abortion activists don't.

Start a new thread.

No, I said that with every bit of class and decorum I could muster. "Class and decorum" doesn't mean I have to take stuff from every one who dishes it out.

Fact is, you are not a moderator and I do not have to do what you tell me, especially since you yourself contributed to the original thread going off-topic.

Jesus, 80s and bvs. Do you need seperating? Honestly, guys. You're both usually really reserved and respectful, but last day or 2 you've both turned into the online equivilent of 15 year old girls!

Yes I did and I apologized, but I will not hide behind the "you're not a mod" argument when I purposely continue to take your thread off topic.

Can I ask you about this? I see it, mostly, as a science issue. Cells are living and all that, but they're not a human life in my view. Perhaps I am using any old justification I can, I dunno. I accept people's rights to abortion because I dont quite end up at seeing it as killing "human life".

If you dont see it as science, what do you think it is?

I apologize. I feel like I asked politely once.

No, I agree. I should have elaborated, my point was that in context of 80's post I don't believe that science says these dividing cells are life, which is where 80's was heading I believe.

Ah, while I was writing I wondered if that was the case. I know you support abortion as an option, and it therefore didn't make much sense.

I do believe that life begins at conception (as do the vast majority of embryologoists), but that was not my point. My point simply was that it is a bioligical issue, no matter if you are prochoice or prolife.
