Is it some movie reference? Because if so there is no way I will ever get it.

A green room actually refers to a room right off stage in a theater. Kind of a casual preparation room.

As peaseblossom said usually in theatre, but all film and tv studios have them too. Basically anywhere where people are performing...
relax time to calm the nerves, and have a chat before and after the show.
