It's Official# Another Hair Poll

I've been dyeing my hair now for 4 years, but haven't been for the last 5 months, because I think it's time for a change. What do you think?

I HATE this picture of me , but this was recently taken (in NY) and you can see my natural color peeking through at the roots.

I thought a pic might be helpful.

Go back to your natural color with highlights! The color removal process isn't even really bleach, it just removes the artificial color and it leaves your hair really soft and shiny. I do it every couple of years just to get all the layers of color out of my hair.

If you've never done it before, you'll be shocked when you see yourself with yellow hair before they put the permanent color on so be prepared if that's what you decide to do

I say do the color removal thing and go closer to your natural color. Maybe you might want to enhance the auburn highlights.

That's kinda what I do. My hair is medium/dark brown with auburn highlights and I have my hair dyed so it is more red/auburnish looking so it is not so boring. What is nice is it looks pretty natural as it grows out since the tones match my normal color. That way I don't have to color it as often.

black does look great on you, but i voted for the 3rd one...head back towards your natural color, do some highlights...sounds good.

I'll look for one tonight.

I am going to call the colorist at my salon this weekend. She was saying she knows of someone who specializes in what I need done, since it'll take longer or whatever since my hair is really black and to go light obviously requires more work.

Normal once you start you look like a zebra

I never used to do anything..until I buckled under the pressure...and now that I have started I have to replenish every few months elst I look like a zebra...my natural colour is very dark brown, almost black..think its the native indian in me but anyway...now that I have pretty much alot of grey..the colour I have grown accustomed to is a reddish-brown base, with deep red highlights..and it actually looks quite good..I like the highlights especially...and at Xmas it is very festive looking..just dont let anyone hang balls on your head...

The only problem with red is apparently that is the worst colour as it is really hard to hold the colour...and with my hair it is difficult because of the grey..grey also doesnt hold the colour well..so I go quite frequently and pay hords of money...but what can you do..if you cant beat em..join em...

and I like your hair..it looks like it has natural tones and highlights..maybe lighten it up just a touch..but not much..to give it a bit of movement

i am going to start dying my hair soon, only because i have grey hairs now.

i have only dyed it once and that wasn't a full dye but to add highlights. i went all funky and had chunky "rocket fire red" highlights in my hair! I loved it, there is no way i could be funky now with the job i now have.

in that pic up there, the light is on my natural color that has grown out in the past few months. so, the top of my head there, that's what my hair is supposed to look like.
