Haha thanks!! :D It sounds sooo much better when they mix it and add the echos

I wonder though about something, I completely sang it on time, I made sure of it, but in the finished product its a bit off. I guess thats the backing track that's diff from the album version?

Oh yeah, that problem is quite common...I really need to use the backing track instead of the album version from now on...my part sounds really rushed.

THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE
Karaoke backing track
Editing by ntalwar

backing vocals : Pla The Great + Sicy

DreamOutLoud13 : Ice, your only rivers run cold
These city lights, they shine as silver and gold
Took from the night, your eyes as black as coal

ThoraSEB : Walk on by, walk on through
Walk till you run and don't look back for here I am

JanuaryStar : Carnival, the wheels fly and the colours spin
Through alcohol, red wine that punctures the skin
Face to face in a dry and waterless place

LemonMelon : Walk on by, walk on through
So sad to besiege your love so head on
Sicy : Stay this time, stay tonight in a lie
I'm only asking but I think you know
Got Philk? : Come on and take me away
Come on and take me away
Miringeltje : Come on, take me home
Home again

Miringeltje : Ever, ever, ever high
And here she comes
Yet she's so far

bono_212 : And if the mountains should crumble
Or disappear into the sea
Not a tear, no not I
PlaTheGreat : Stay in this time
Stay tonight in a lie
unico : Ever after this loving time
And if you save your love
Save your love, save it all
waynetravis : Don't push me too far
Don't push me too far tonight
Tonight, tonight

No, no...within the song it sounds fine, it's just that the backing track is a bit faster than the album version, so the vocals are slightly sped up. It's only noticeable if you're familiar with the vocal track you recorded before it was edited.

Album version - 4:55
Interference mix - 4:35

Those 20 seconds make a big difference. :)

I don't hear it as sped up. Those 20 seconds are the synth ending.

I am talking about timing. LemonMelon gets what I'm saying.
My timing was perfect when I recorded to the album version.
But when I listen to the completed song, I seem to be singing too fast.

I'll look at it tonight. I have to add or delete silence often to make sure the phrases and line length match the album version. I play them simultaneously.

I'll upload clips later tonight so you can judge for yourselves then -just your parts + Bono's singing together.

Here's just lines 3,4,5 along with Bono:

All lines start and end with Bono's, as far as I can tell.
Lines 3 and 4 lengthwise were as originally recorded. Line 5 might have had .2 seconds trimmed from the original, but it matches Bono's tempo.

Oops yeah I was agreeing with you about ntalwar!

However, I know we all appreciate both you and ntalwar's time and work

I've suggested it to him before....and I think it's about time he bend to our collective will.

1. I can't sing.
2. I don't like my singing voice.
