I’m looking for interesting, moving, entertaining, unique, extraordinary and ordinary stories that U2 fans are willing to share about their experiences as fans to use in a documentary.

The focus of the documentary is on eight categories - Sacrifice, Social Justice, Emotions, Experiences, Relationships, Inspirations, Community and Thank Yous - with set questions framed around these categories. These are open to change depending on where this project leaves.

The idea is to celebrate the diversity of the U2 fan community around the world and their experiences.

The only way that I can really do that is by using set questions, with fans recording themselves on a digital camera/digital video camera, and then sending it to me.

I'm looking for a little more than 'this is my favourite song/album'.

The vibe that I’m looking for is similar to the confessional booth used at the Zoo Tv gigs.

Ticket stubs from U2 gig are going to be used for the opening sequence, and I’m appreciate any scanned copies that I can get my hands on!

Fans would be required to sign a contract as a precaution to protect their own interests and my own.

If you email me at gypsyheart@y7mail.com I will send you a copy of the set questions, and if you are still interested, I’ll forward the contract.

Thanks.

Natalie

Documentary Update

For those of you who are even remotely interested in my 'little project' about U2 fans and the U2 fan community around the world...

- The first overseas 'self interviewed' interview arrived from Poland last week

- The first 'real' interview took place in Melbourne this week
(The Australian U2 Show, a well known U2 coverband here in Australia, who were nothing but helpful and supportive).

- Almost 100 people from around the world have contacted me in relation to participating in the documentary BUT...

I could, however, still do with the following...

- jpegs of U2 concert ticket stubs

- jpegs of U2 concert wrist bands

- jpegs of Wire Tags

- Interviews with people who used to make fanzines (pre internet!) on their
kitchen table or bedroom floor

- Interviews with people who were at the Slane Gigs

- Interviews with former Wirelings, in particular anyone who was involved in
the making of Wire Tags or the Wire Banners, or transporting the Wire
Banners around the world.

- Inteviews with any of Bono's Babes, those rare and lucky and elusive
creatures who have danced with the B man on stage at a U2 gig

- Interviews with older U2 fans - I know that you are out there.

- Interviews with fans who aren't from Canada, Australia, the US or the UK!!!
(U2 DO have a fan base in New Zealand, don't they?!!)

- Interviews with people who have got involved with charities or other
organisations because of U2's commitments to various Social Justice Issues

- Anyone who has travelled extensively to see U2 gigs, and given up
work/attendance at family events in order to do so.

- Anyone with entertaining or amusing stories about experiences they have
have had meeting U2 or at concerts in queues.

If you're interested in participating please EMAIL me at gypsyheart@y7mail.com.

I don't get on to Inteference as much as I'd like, but will say that this website has been a great help in a number of ways with this project.

Thanks, Elvis!

Natalie.:hmm:

P.S. - U2 are now icons...who knew?!

What happens when Natalie descends in to hell for a bottle of milk...

If anyone out there is even remotely interested about participating in a documentary about U2 fans around the world, *please* PLEASE *please* contact me by the 1st of September 2008. (gypsyheart@y7mail.com) (that's it folks. Finite. The End).

The documentary is going to be broken up in to segments about different types of fans, and I'm still looking for the following:-

- Fanzine Editors - in the pre-internet days, they gave us the news.
- Web Masters - our current source of news and information.
- Collectors - those with extensive U2 collections
- Cover Band Members - self explanatory
- Activists - If you have been involved in a charity or what not
- Artists - If U2 have inspired you artistically
- Writers - If you're a published writer of U2 material
- Musician - If you learnt to play an instrument because of U2
- Families - if you have grown up in a U2 family
- Wirelings - If you were a member of Wire, if you helped to get the
wire banner around the Popmart tour, if you helped make Wiretags
- Friends - if you have met people via U2 fansites, concerts,
fanzines
- Inspired - If U2 have inspired you in some unique way
- Concerts - if you were at any of the important gigs like Slane 1,
Slane 2, Vegas Popmart, Lovetown Dublin
- Critics - if the band has made choices that you have questioned
- Faith - if your spiritual side has been awakened by U2
- Bono's Babes - if you have been invited on stage during a U2
concert
- Travellers - Those who give up their day job to travel around to U2 gigs.

Basically, if you are a fan and have a story, and you feel comfortable about appearing in a documentary film, please contact me at gypsyheart@y7mail.com.

If you're not comfortable with having your face on a big screen, there are other alternatives available, so if that is the only thing holding you back...contact me anyway.

A donation will be made for every interview received to the African Well Fund.

Thanks.

Natalie Baker.
