U2 Album 'Seasons'

IMO, the "vibe" of U2's albums w/ respect to the seasons:

Unforgettable Fire: Winter (despite "Indian Summer Sky")
Joshua Tree: Summer
Rattle and Hum: Winter
Achtung Baby: Winter / Spring
Zooropa: Summer
Pop: Summer
ATYCLB: Fall

Interesting. The first three albums had an autumnal feel for me, but that could be just me, because I always think of autumn (or fall ) when I hear riffs like that for some reason.

Hmmm....I have slightly different thoughts about those.

Summer: JT, Pop, ATYCLB, R&H
Autumn: October, Boy
Winter: UF, War (but I think that's just because I think of the NYD video)

Instead of a season, AB and Zooropa make me think of night.

JT and R&H definitely have a summer vibe to me. War definitely feels like winter. I'm not sure about UF...maybe autumn?

ATYCB feels like fall, but I think that's because it's so closely associated in my mind with when I bought it, which was after Halloween. Same with War--I got it for my birthday, in February.

Rattle and Hum makes me think "winter" because of "Angel of Harlem" and the release date (Oct/Nov wasn't it?)

That's interesting about everyone's pick for JT. I've always thought of it as a Winter album. Maybe cause of Running to Stand Still, Exit & Mother's of the Disappeared. Winter's a dark season and so are those songs.

Interesting, I've thought about this sort of thing, too, before.

As for Rattle and Hum, I see that one as mostly summer with a hint of winter because of "Angel Of Harlem" (which I can totally picture being sung in downtown New York City at Christmastime)-kinda like the whole idea of "Christmas in July", or a winter-type song to let you think cool thoughts in the warm months of summer. Plus, songs like "Desire", "Love Rescue Me", "Heartland"-those are songs I can picture listening to as you're driving down the road in the summertime.

Other than that, ditto to wertsie's list.
