I just downloaded "11 O'Clock Tick Tock" assuming that it was the original studio version, but now I am not sure because it was listed as coming from the "12-inch Pride single". The length of the song is 4:09, and it does NOT include the part where Bono sings "Call out your name, call out in shame". Can anyone confirm or deny that this is the original version?

I would if I could. Sounds like it could be the original. My knowledge is limited but the only well-known versions I'm aware of are 1. the original (pretty obscure) 2. the Under a Blood Red Sky version 3. the recent Irving Plaza concert version (and I suppose God knows how many bootlegs as well).

It would make sense, knowing Bono, for him to flesh out the lyrics in later versions, perhaps. If the song you downloaded is not from a concert, then chances are it is the original. I mean, did they re-record it in 1984?

According to the discography at http://www.u2wanderer.org/disco/song0.html, this song has been released no less than FIVE times, with three studio versions and two live takes. Although your version is not technically the "original", I believe it's the same take, only longer.

The "call out" part is something Bono added in the live versions (you probably know it from the UABRS version).

As a side note, the wanderer site is a fascinating annotated catalog of U2's VERY complicated discography. Check it out!
