In the April 2007 edition of Esquire, the Kings of Leon are featured in a photoshoot.

The article has these few lines

Now, where they once sounded jittery, there's swagger. Pinpointing that source of the band's awakening is easy: Two years ago, right when they were to start work on Because of the Times, they were handpicked for tours with U2 and, later, Bob Dylan and Pearl Jam. Almost instantly, the band says, they were humbled - by the legends they saw onstage and off. (It's not just the music. You can think you're a rock star until you get on U2's plane and see how much bigger their security guards are than your security guards," Caleb says. "It was an ego check.") "We put a lot of pressure on ourselves - it's how we're wired," he says. "And to have Bono or Eddie Vedder find something worthwhile about our music only adds to the pressure. To have people like that looking over our shoulders to see if we're going to do something with this band is nerve racking."

I know many U2 fans didn't enjoy them much, but I did. There's talent there.

i guess win butler never noticed the size of u2's security guards.
