the day this album comes out here in the US, collectors edition or not I'm going straight up to Best Buy to get the best version they have available.

Hopefully they'll have the deluxe limited collectors super-special version, but if not, ill be jsut as happy with the regular one. sorta

It's a bit hard to be sure, the subtle points are the following:

Is the term "box set" supposed to mean just DVD+CD together or does it also imply the special packaging? I would guess it's the second one. I expect the Version 2 to be just a normal CD in a jewel case with a DVD attatched just like they did in the best of. I expect only the Version 3 to be in a special packaging but what I am wondering is whether Version 3 also includes the book of the Collector's edition or there are actually 4 versions of the album, with Version 3 being a simple box set and Version 4 being the Collector's one including the book?

Canada is U2 country! Don't sweat it. Its here.

www.umusic.ca check the new releases section. It will be named "deluxe limited edition" or something similar.

I bought the Best of 1990-2000 regular cd in Holland, the one without the fly. After a month, the cd sold for less including the fly as a 'special edition'. Can i expect the same to happen with HTDAAB regarding Fast Cars? BTW is fast cars on the deluxe super bla bla set? Or on the other special collecters thing? Or neither so you buy al sets...

Regarding the standard CD, as fas as I have heard Fast Cars will be available only in the japanese and almost certainly also in the UK version.

I had bought the UK edition of "best of" especially because the fly was included. The Fly was not included in the US or other European versions, not even in the limited edition in these coutries. Only in the UK edition of all versions (1, 2 or 3 discs).

This leads me to conclude that the same will happen here and that Fast Cars will not be available in the limited edition outside Japan and UK.

Japanese CD's are too expensive so I think your best bet is to order the limited UK edition from amazon.co.uk

If there is one limited edition (outside Japan) that could include Fast Cars, this is the one. And the price is not bad. However, more than one month before the album comes out there is no need to rush. Soon we will know for sure and from official sources the exact contents of all versions.

Also note that the definition of "limited" or "collector's" in the language of U2 records is unfortunately used in a mistaken way and all limited editions so far were available for purchase even years after the initial release date. This means there is no reason to be worried and start rushing out and buying it for fear there might be none left to buy. This is unfortunate, in my opinion, because a true limited edition should be really available in small quantities for those who are passionate enough to hurry and buy it first.

I ordered the collectors edition (whew!) from Amazon.Com-I hope I got the right one. Also Vertigo Part II. I noticed you could pre-order the Anton Corbijn book also--around $67. Forget getting anyone else anything for Christmas this year--I've spent all the money on myself.
