I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. There are boots where you can definitely hear extra voices in the mix. Plus, some parts such as "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" and "two hearts beat as one" have more voices in the mix than just Bono and Edge could provide, but individual voices are a bit hard to distinguish.

I definitely agree, but I was just putting it out there.

Also, the main reason there was a mic on Adam's side was because he and the Edge switched sides of the stage for "40", and Edge needed to be in front of the bass amp, and have a microphone to sing backup into. I'm pretty sure that was the microphones only REAL purpose, Adam probably just sang into it if he got bored.
