If Together Alone isn't in my top 100, it probably will be soon. Damn fine album.

Pale Folklore is your favorite Agalloch album? I actually haven't gone back that far yet. I love The Mantle.

You like something by Thursday? Woah. I listened to their last one and it was OK.

Also...new Alcest already? I guess I envy you, having a new favorite like that.

I found it really hard to separate Agalloch's first three albums, really. To sort it out, I demoted Ashes Against the Grain because of that pointless last track, then I figured that Pale Folklore simply has more personal favourite songs than The Mantle. She Painted Fire Across the Skyline is pretty much everything I love about Agalloch in one place.

Oh yeah, I dig Thursday, got into them late last year. Went to their very last headline show and everything. Full Collapse and No Devolucion are amazing albums.

I was a bit hesitant about putting the new Alcest on the list, especially since it's so high, but if Ecailles de lune is on the list and I think Les voyages de l'ame is better, I figured I couldn't deny it. Similar hesitation applied to some late 2011 albums, but no point excluding something I'm really digging just because it's so recent, especially since I view any album ranking as just reflecting the feelings and favourites of a moment - new lists can always be done to reflect changes in future. Pretty sure this list looks almost nothing like a top fifty I did a few years ago for a thread you made.

Who will stay, who will go? WHO KNOWS!

Comic Con (not affiliated with the US one) was frickin' nuts. First time I've ever been to something like that, and I ran into Alison

Yes it was, and yes you did! I was so surprised I forgot why you said you were there.

I'm kinda surprised you recognised me, actually. *L*

Haha! I recognised the costume from dragoncon or some other Facebook photos.

Did you get to do what you were lining up for? I got a photo & autograph with Julie Benz and my day was done. Such a busy day.

I have decided my next tattoo will be of a platypus. Design and location to be determined.

Ah, fair enough... Yes, I saw the Patrick Stewart panel (which included his son as a bonus extra), and completely by accident took a look at another panel that featured the guy who plays Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones (and he was in Stargate Atlantis too, apparently), so that was my $20 worth. I chickened out of the costume comp in the end - it would have kept me there until 5:30 and I was pretty much over it about the same time you were.

Alison, I hope you have seen this: http://i.imgur.com/t4bG7.jpg

I had not! That's brilliant. *considers sticking it on her cubicle at work*

Ashley, you better have a good reason for why Alphaville didn't make it! But seriously, nice list.

Lemesk, Zooropa's been my top U2 album for the past couple of years too.

I have decided my next tattoo will be of a platypus. Design and location to be determined.

Shall we talk?

Also, just cause I want to post this - Port Lincoln is going to be the Dubai of australia

I'm too lazy to get into these R.E.M. album listenings. Only recently listened to Out of Time and now Murmur. There is still a bit to go.

... Maaaaaaybe.

They won't tattoo you if you're drunk, right?

This ogre dick on my neck implies otherwise.

Seriously, I'm guessing it's either enforced or lax depending on which tattoo parlour you go to... though I would of course be greatly honoured if you'd wish to do that. Same with you Reggo, if you have any particular ideas you want to bounce off of me. I've already had a mate get a tattoo I designed for him for his birthday and it's pretty damn satisfying to see it... plus it's way cooler to design something that means something to the person you're designing it for, especially if it's someone you care about. Not like the goons I went to school with who PM me on facebook and ask hay do u stil draw kan u draw me a zombi werewolf crusader tat??

OK, I'll PM you here with my ideas and some pictures, though I have no doubt you know what a platypus looks like

After two weeks in the country, it's kind of funny to be back in the city.

Oh dear.

And the werewolf part of that sounded appealing, at least...!

I wasn't really actually properly serious (yet), but if I was going to get an image carved more-or-less permanently into my flesh, you would be the first person I'd go to for a design. And I have been thinking about a tattoo for many years, so it's not entirely out of the question.

DO IT DO IT DO IT.

You first... maybe Thomas? Or a silver fern if I actually wanted to tempt you...

Ladies and gentlemen, the exact location of Hell has been discovered: Warning! Boats of old rockers heading to Australian waters on FasterLouder.com.au

:panic:

Wait... it doesn't mention that it's coming back! This could be our chance to get rid of the lot of them (and many of their stupidly wealthy fans) in one fell swoop...

In other, crappier news, cancer has killed another person I care about. Enough, already.

Haha, I couldn't. Not even if I was as drunk as I was at the full moon party.

What, not even the Geelong logo? Or if you met Kanye West and he autographed your arm?

I'm told that aside from the altered level of judgement, it's also inadvisable to get a tattoo while drunk, cos it makes your blood runnier and you bleed more.

You first... maybe Thomas? Or a silver fern if I actually wanted to tempt you...

A silver fern is about the only thing I'd vaguely contemplate, and even then, a tattoo holds no interest.

Wait... it doesn't mention that it's coming back! This could be our chance to get rid of the lot of them (and many of their stupidly wealthy fans) in one fell swoop...

... you make a compelling point! This could be the best thing to happen to Australia in years.

My friend is meant to be designing my tattoo, but she's notoriously slow. If she pisses me off and takes too long (she procrastinates worse than anyone I know), I might be sending something your way too, Bonnie!
