you have my sympanthies, BC

Last christmas I worked at a pub - I had to work Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve AND New Years Day (as well as all the days in between). I spent the whole crimbo season just watching everyone else have fun

'Twas not good.

I don't, but my mom does. She's been in this line of work for a few years now, and some of the horror stories she tells about customers are just amazing. It baffles me how stupid and rude some people can be-one person actually threw a roll of tape at her once after some incident. So mature . And I always find it amusing when she tells stories about how some customer will yell at her when she explains the rules about getting certain merchandise or whatever. They fail to realize that she just works there, she didn't make the rules. Heck, she thinks some of the rules are rather dumb herself. But she has to follow them.

Yeah. She wasn't looking forward to today at all. I just hope that people won't give her grief today. Same thing for the rest of you who are working in department stores. .

I had to work today but it's a call center environment so at least I dont have to deal with people face to face. It wasnt that bad though...I expected worse.

I love fellow retailers' war stories. I had a sweater thrown at me one time (not during Holiday, believe it or not)...now it's one of the funniest stories I tell. If you come to my store and you're yelling at me and I'm turning red and I have my hands in my pockets or I'm holding onto the counter for dear life, I'm NOT scared. I'm either about to laugh in your face for your pettiness or suppressing the Irish temper.

I had to work today, at my little GapKids/babyGap store, and it really wasn't that bad. I think it was the foggy weather, and I don't work in a mall. And it's been SO slow for SO long it was fun to have all those people to help and lots of new people on to teach things. We were also having a really fun contest so the friendly competition was great. I'm gonna call the store a little after closing to see how things went.
