I saw Return of the Jedi 7 times in the theatre in 1983. That's the most viewings of a single film at a cinema for me. Twice in Toronto, once in Nova Scotia and three times in Newfoundland including the first afternoon showing at 3:15 pm on the day it came out. We had to run like hell after school to get there in time.

Yes it was. In those days, it was a big deal to see a movie when it first came out. No internet or IM or giant multiplexes. I knew people who couldn't get in to see it for over a week cause it was always selling out. My friends and I felt like kings the next day at school since we knew how it ended before anyone else.

I watched that so many times in college, and it's one of only a handful of movies I own now. I've also seen Pulp Fiction a bunch of times, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is always one I can go back to.

I've seen Titanic exactly once! New Year's Day, whatever year it came out.

That was enough.

You are my hero. Every girl I know that's seen this just didn't get it. The plain fact is...you don't need to understand the plot. It's secondary to the scenes themselves, mostly the dialogue between The Dude and Walter.

"You think the carpetpissers did this?"

"atsabummer man.."

I've watched The Color Purple a ton of times. If not that, then maybe Zoolander...
