Again, i think the 787 and possibly the A350 will see huge leaps in Wellington airports international use, if the numbers stack up.

If i remember the version of the story i've heard, they only spotted Wellington through a break in the clouds, so they were quite lucky.

And i forgot about the 747SPs, but they hardly count as 747s.
Well, I suppose I can understand Christchurch getting that use, as it's the clear link to Queenstown. Frankly, I've never understood why Queenstown is such a fucking tourist mecca, but then I'm happier to sacrifice it to the tourists than one of the far more scenic and enjoyable towns in the vicinity. When's this 787 meant to come into use?

And yeah, that sounds like the story my father told me.

I know nothing about how the 747SP differs. It looks fucking big, similar to a normal 747 - that's it!

Also, hi Ax and Ian
Hey Ali!

I wonder if PT think I'm stalking them?

During Hatesong in Brisbane, SW and I were pointing at each other during "and I'm more cut up than you" ...

Ian, we're going to have to do something about that taste of yours.

Central heating seems too Lazy American to me. At the moment, I'm contemplating putting on a blazer - I'm sitting here in trousers and Porcupine Tree t-shirt right now. Maybe I'll get out the heater if it gets down to 5 or so.

I do miss having a fireplace ...

Possibly

I was randomly reading a Wikipedia article about that Heaven's Gate cult, and PT were mentioned in it... and then today I was flipping through a Bass Guitar magazine and there was Colin Edwin, in an ad for whatever brand of speakers/amps/pedals he uses.

It's all right for people with no nerves in their skin, but we were suffering enough last night...

Who the fuck knows? Sometime late this decade at this rate.

In short (heh), the 747SP was a shrunk version of the 747-100 which allowed longer range flights and was more capable of short runways than the usual 747.
