I just turned 27 a few weeks ago and I was feeling a bit down because I am not really doing what I want to be doing in life right now. People were trying to cheer me up by telling me I only look 22-23ish (that doesn't help...), but that night I went to the liquor store to buy some gin (that helped....) and I realized as I was leaving that the 19/20 year old girl behind the counter didn't card me.

So I said, "Hey, you didn't card me." Her eyes got real big and she started muttering something about, "I was going to, but your pretty good lookin... blah, blah, blah"

Flattery is not going to help you sweetheart....

So yeah, I'm starting to look my age.

How did I miss this thread?!

Got carded for an R-rated movie today. And I constantly get asked what high school I go to when I visit my granny at her nursing home.

I'm in my early 30s.

I'll be 40 in September and I get carded all the time. I was even accused of using a fake ID when I was buying beer at a U2 show once

I'll be 26 in a few weeks and I still get carded every now and then. I think in the last year or so I've started to look my age. It used to piss me off so much, but now I try to tell myself that I'll appreciate it when I'm older.

The best example of this was when I was taking the bus when I was 21. I hadn't taken the bus in years, so I didn't know the fare. I asked the driver how much it was, and he told me the child's price. I thought it was so funny that I didn't bother to let him know how old I actually was. At least I got a cheaper fare that day!

I'll be 25 soon and you'd never know it If I went out without make up or anything of the sort, I'd easily get handed a kids' menu at a restaurant

When I worked at a 7-Eleven, I once carded a woman who was buying alcohol...and she was in her mid-forties! She said I made her day though!

Ever since I was a little kid and all through college people always thought I was older than I was... and now I'm in grad school and in my early twenties and everyone thinks I'm younger than I am. I can't figure it out. Maybe I'm just ageless.

I've been "ma'am"-ed since I was 16 and got my first job... I don't take any offense by it.
I almost never get carded for R movies but always get carded for alcohol.. but I know a lot of places are required to card anyone who looks like they might be under 30.

I'm 27 and even people I've known casually for a long time (hairdressers, etc) ask me when I'm graduating from college.

The best was when my brother was 16 and I was 21 and we went to see a rated-R movie. He handed over his ticket and went right in...I handed mine to the usher and was promptly asked for ID. I STILL have not heard the end of it!
