Ian McCulloch the U2 fan:
"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

Hush, I like heavy dark music, and some of these songs have simply hilarious themes. They're so ridiculous that they circle back into awesome.

But I've now switched to Evanescence. Stalker music for the win.

You belong to me, my snow white queen
There's nowhere to run, so let's just get it over
Soon I know you'll see, you're just like me
Don't scream anymore my love, 'cause all I want is you

I would consider MCR to be neither heavy nor dark.

Okay, I should say: heavier and darker than U2

I hate when people say "Oh, you like U2? Then you'd like so-and-so." Usually Coldplay gets named. But I don't even know why the fuck I got to like U2, most of the other music I like is nothing like them. And I hate Coldplay.

Anyway, I'm on to the love songs now. Good Enough is a stunningly pretty song, with a gorgeous vocal:

Under your spell again
I can't say no to you
Crave my heart, and it's bleeding in your hand
I can't say no to you

Shouldn't let you torture me so sweetly
Now I can't let go of this dream
I can't breathe, but I feel good enough
I feel good enough, for you

Drink up sweet decadence
I can't say no to you
And I've completely lost myself and I don't mind
I can't say no to you

Shouldn't let you conquer me completely
Now I can't let go of this dream
Can't believe that I feel good enough
I feel good enough

It's been such a long time coming, but I feel good
And I'm still waiting for the rain to fall
Pour real life down on me
'Cause I can't hold on to anything this good, enough
Am I good enough for you to love me too?

So take care what you ask of me
I can't say no to you

I dare you to listen/watch

I love the "if you like U2, you'll like ..." things like that. It's as if some people are only familiar with Beautiful Day and ISHFWILF or whatever. Come on, people, The Fly? That's pretty rockin'.

I'll have to go find the conversation, when I am neither buzzed nor on my cell phone

Last Night on Earth was U2's last rock song

The real question here is: Does it come with the blue leg garter?
