Ahhhhh scheduling issues. We write down our availability several times a year and it still gets screwed up. I, for the most part, have been lucky........I count my blessings. Some co-workers, whew, wow, they are not so lucky.

Continual scheduling problems. They end up being scheduled for a day that I asked off for and then I feel guilty and they end up fuming ( not at me, but in general (general ='s the boss) and asking the boss, "um, why?". Everyone feels miserable and the stress goes up. It is a fabulous (not) feeling.\

Good luck with your scheduling problems.

^I love World Market!! Good luck! I had one at Kohl's the other day but their pay rate is worse than a little, barely-1-million-dollars-a-year GapKids on a little island in Rhode Island...

Trader Joe's has so far screwed up my schedule three times in the two weeks I've worked there. I am not available on Sundays until November due to kickball, and they scheduled me tomorrow morning (or so I thought...), and then 12-6 next Sunday. This morning I got a call at 6:30 that I was supposed to be there at 5...which I was not when I wrote down my schedule, not to mention I am not available until 4 pm on Saturdays. So I am going to re-write my availability for them and bring it in this afternoon.

I am feeling tired and uninspired to go skating this morning...which is not good because I have an hour and a half of group lessons starting at noon.

There's a Kohl's in the little shopping area by school. I know tons of people that work there and they all hate it due to pay and scheduling issues. I was going to apply to one that's in the middle of school and home but I figured if everyone hates working at the other store this one won't be any better. I applied to a Kohl's store a few years ago when I was looking for a 2nd job. The manager I spoke to when I turned in the application said they were desperate for nights and weekends, which is what I wanted. He said he'd call me later on to set up a formal interview. Never heard from him.

I'm excited about the idea of working at world market. I love it there! I have a hard time going in there and not buying anything. The spice rack in the food aisle has been my best friend lately

The whole 3:00 interview thing just totally screws up my whole day today. There's not much I can do. Doesn't matter. I don't have any money anyways. I can't wait until I finally get some extra money on Monday. It's been a long 2 months of being poor.

*goes to grocery store to purchase pumpkin*
Cashier: $3.98 please
Me: *hands over $5 bill*
Cashier: Oh, with tax it is $7.96
Me: I don't think so :eyebrow:
Cashier: *stares at me*
Me: *smiles and stares back*
Cashier: *looks at receipt tape and hands me a $1.02 back
Me: Thank you :)

Now c'mon, I realize that I live in WI (very heavily taxed state with a governor that shouts, "I will NOT RAISE taxes" and then proceeds to create a state budget in which he WILL raise taxes") ~ but DOUBLE the price of the pumpkin? Now I work in retail and I make mistakes but I don't stand there and stare at the customer like "yes, you heard me" and not figure out that that just sounds oh so wrong.

One more rant:
Make those orange lady bugs go away. They are all over and not nearly as friendly as the little red fellas (these bite)

soooooooo many people do that! I find it intersting that when I'm working in a retail store, I get in trouble for not making the customer "right" all the time. But yet so many times when I am the customer I'm treated like crap.

and that reminds me........I forgot to buy pumpkin seeds! :madwife: I was going to make pumpkin seed brittle tonight. I want to use it as an item on one of my plated desserts but I need to make sure it works first. :(

I'm so bummed about tonight. For anyone that read my journal entry about the sandwich girl: it's her 21st birthday today. Woo hoo! :| She invited our whole class to the casino tonight to celebrate. Her parents are paying for a suite at the hotel. After the way she treated me over the whole job situation and the way she has continued to treat me, I refused to go to her party. A was with me all along saying she wouldn't go either. But she and the sandwich girl work together so it's hard for A to ignore her. She's told me for weeks that we could just plan on doing something tonight. She's been casually dating a guy for a few months now. I've never met him because she keeps saying they're just "friends" and nothing more. She's wanted to introduce him to me the past few weeks but it hasn't worked out. All of a sudden the other day she tells everyone that she and her "friend" are going to come to the party. Then she looked at me like she did something wrong and asked if that was ok. Whatever. I think she wants to show him off, which is totally fine with me, but I thought we had plans tonight not to mention the fact that she's told me all along that if I'm not going to the party neither is she because she would feel like she's backstabbing me for going. I'm a little pissed because everyone is going but me so I'm basically punishing myself to prove a point to the sandwich girl. She's tried to be nice to me lately but until she apologizes for treating me like crap I can't talk to her. I was in an abusive relationship friendship :crack: (if that makes sense) for almost 20 years. I won't stand for someone treating me like shit. But I do feel a little forgotten now by A for going and also for bringing her friend to meet everyone before me.

Then Amy, who I haven't seen in months, texted me early to ask if I wanted to go on a haunted hayride with her sisters and her nephews. Uh no. I hate scary things.

So now I have nothing to do tonight except the same old same old of sitting at home. :barf:

2nd interivew on Monday with a 3rd person. Today was an interview with 2 people. The pay sucks but they're are totally ok with my hours so I have to take it if they offer it to me. I didn't try to negotiate anything more because I need a job and an extra quarter an hour really isn't going to do much.

I was the odd one out the other night when my sister and a friend went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. Not for me :reject:

Sorry about the sandwich girl situation . If it makes you feel better, I don't even know her and I'm laughing at her for being nicknamed "sandwich girl".

I would have stayed home too, just to prove a point. I, like kelly, chuckle everytime she is called "sandwich girl".

Scary stuff . I am currently watching The Birds on AMC and seeing all the previews for the scary movies that are coming up in the next week. The Exorcist is on next Saturday night and I work :(. Halloween is also going to be on in the coming week.

A friend and I used to go to Fright Fest at Great America every year. Haven't gone for a while .............Great America isn't what it used to be. We have talked about going down to Disney and Universal for the Halloween celebrations. Some day, some day.

The movie Halloween ruined a few years of my life for sleeping when I was a kid. I went from being totally independent to having to sleep with the door open and ALL of my Snoopys in bed with me. I had ALOT of Snoopys too! (I still have them all  ).

Anytime I hear that little jingle from the movie I still get freaked out.   I've always been such a wimp when it comes to scary movies because of that. My sister dragged me to see one of the Scream movies in the theater with her. I almost died. At the time we lived in a house in the woods on top of a huge hill. It was a little creepy at night. Yeah that was fun being home alone in that house in the weeks following the movie.

^you would not enjoy the current ringtone on my cell, trust me. A few years of your life ...................*cringe*

Rescued by Snoopys :cute:

 fumble.......Vikings touchdown

I get the impression from the Dallas team that they were thinking this would be an easy win for them. :tsk:

:uhoh: oh wait....sounds like a booth review

:der:  I went to make dinner and I forgot about the game :madwife:

My family is just a riot. They still are shocked when I make something really good for dinner. :sigh: I give up. They all commented several times about how good it was, in a completely surprised voice. I don't think any of them will ever get that A. 99% of the TV I've watched in the past 5+ years is Food Network. B. In 6 months I can call myself a professional Chef. Pastry Chef but still a Chef. They do teach us a thing or two about other foods. :tsk: I made a damn fine vegetarian meal tonight if I do say so myself! Everyone ate it, including my brother who is just as picky as me. Plus I had apple crisp (made at school) hot out of the oven for dessert.

I just read through some of the old Randooms from the 2004 ALCS and World Series. :nerd:

:nerd: yes, but a lovable :nerd: ~ :)
I remember Catorce innings but don't remember exactly when that was (World Series, Playoffs, Regular season)...............ok, so that might make me a :nerd: for remembering that.

I love people who think this alley of garages in the condo complex is a through street. Some idiot just drove down the alley way too fast, screeched their tires as they turned around, and drove out way too fast. The alley is about a car and a half wide and the people who DO live here drive courteously in case a neighbor is going the other way.

Matsuzaka, if you walk Lofton, I will hurt you.

Whew. Fly ball to JD Drew. I'll take it.

ok so I am not familiar with Red Sox/Cleveland player names and the
"Matsuzaka, if you walk Lofton, I will hurt you." threw me a little..........I was wondering why you were going to be so angry if your neighbor walked his dog :reject:.........yep that established my lack of baseball knowledge :nerd:dom.

On that embarrassing note I am off to get some pumpkin ice cream

Sorry, that came out of nowhere.

You can keep the pumpkin ice cream to yourself! :D

I don't like my day tomorrow :tsk:

I have a 1 minute impromptu speech tomorrow. We have to pick out of a hat 3 different subjects and then we get 1 minute to decide what we're going to pick of the 3. Then we get 1 minute to speak. So basically while 1 speech is going on, the next person gets to wait outside to figure out their speech. I don't like it. :tsk:

Then.......I have a 2nd interview tomorrow at 3:00. I told them I could stop over on my way home from school at about noon or come back about 5:00 on my way back to school in the afternoon. We discussed me goofy schedule until Nov 9 and they seemed fine with it. So anyways they didn't seem to care that 3:00 was in the middle of my personal time in the day where I get to rest.

After my interview I'll have ok traffic on my way back to school. I have to pick up my financial aid check FINALLY and then go to the bank. The only stressful thing about that is sometimes the checks really aren't there when they say they will be. Also sometimes a financial aid rep has to "release" the check to you by making you sign a form. Generally in past experiece my rep has been gone for the day when this has happened and I've been turned away without a check or sent to someone else that doesn't know why I've been sent to them. So what should be a quick process turns into a big deal. I REALLY really really need that check to get into an ATM by 6:00 tomorrow or I just might cry in the financial aid office. The only thing that gives me hope that I have a check waiting is my account on my portal shows a withdrawal from my balance.

:scream:
