1. Breathe
2. Moment of Surrender
3. NLOTH
4. Magnificent

Glad to see Breathe at the top of the list for you, LM. It is probably my favorite song of the album as well. It stands in stark opposition to Unknown Caller in the sense that Breathe's vocal experiment and guitar solo pull the song together rather than rip it apart. Edge's backing vocals in the bridge are also sublime.

As for Crazy Tonight, I really don't mind it, and, like Cori, the melody often sticks in my head. But it really sounds like a b-side or a one-off single rather than an album track. Whenever I listen to No Line, I am astounded by how quickly Crazy Tonight dismantles the mood of the first four tracks.

Ranking the songs:

1. Breathe
2. Magnificent
3. MoS
4. No Line
5. Fez-BB

6. Cedars

7-11: The rest

Great rankings.

U2 rockers in the past decade have been decidedly hit or miss, but they really knocked it out of the park twice on NLOTH, which in spite of the awful Boots and SUC remains a considerably higher ratio than HTDAAB and ATYCLB. The title track sears...the storytelling is simplistic but evocative, and Edge brings a huge wall of sound to the table that is out of character for him and truly badass. Breathe is just a tremendously well-structured song that comes flying out of the gate and never lets up. In the face of this, the viola is enough to make your head swim, and Bono sounds on the verge of collapse himself. It's just a really great song, all around. One of those really inspired moments where rawk connects with lyrical inspiration to create something great (see: When I Look At The World).

Hasn't only like one person heard that album so far? I wonder who leaked it :hmm:

I know the Popjustice website (a British site) was invited to a listening party, but the album was played on a computer and apparently the tracks were "watermarked" or something, so they couldn't have leaked it.

They're the only site I'd heard of who'd heard it, but I haven't been on Britney Watch 2011 or anything.

I'm probably going to hold out - more out of general laziness right now than a sense of morality. I've got way too much other stuff to listen to and I can wait another couple of weeks.

A watermark means that, yes, the leak has an embedded code revealing who leaked it. So, it can still be leaked, but the person who leaked it will be caught and probably be in quite a bit of trouble.

93.1 XRT is playing an entire Cure show on the radio tonight. That was an awesome surprise and made the trip out to pick up free Craigslist furniture far more bearable.

I like your inclusion of the extras there. Spin would probably be midway on my list, and Winner is definitely better than several tracks.

I think the fact that anyone would go out of their way to praise Winter is proof of how bad Boots and Stand Up Comedy are. Anything but those two.

1. Was extremely hungover Sunday after a huge Saturday night, but got a free ticket to a music festival with some good acts so decided to go. Sadly I missed Tame Impala, the act I wanted to see most, because my mate was even more hungover than I, and we got there too late.

We saw Kesha, who was probably the worst live act I've ever seen. Slut chic and no autotune = garbage. MGMT were very ordinary. They had no stage presence and whilst I didn't like Congratulations even Time to Pretend and Electric Feel (we didn't stay for Kids) didn't have the impact I was hoping. The Chemical Brothers were really good and the visuals were terrific, but not as good as I was hoping. Dizzee Rascal is overrated, though the Holiday/Bonkers combo was probably the highlight of the day.

The best of the fest however went to Mark Ronson and the Business Intl, who had hits last year with The Bike Song and Somebody to Love. Thoroughly entertaining. They also played covers of Radiohead's Just, which was a real wtf moment, and the theme song from The OC which was great as well.

2. I haven't listened to NLOTH in a very long time (and it's super depressing that it's been two years since it came out) but I still think it's good. I don't passionately hate any of the songs. There's no way we're getting a new album in May and I doubt we'll get one in 2011.

Fez Being Born (still love those minimalist lyrics)

Still haven't heard Winter or Soon, nor have I seen Linear.

You need to pick up Mark Ronson's previous album Version, which includes Just as well as other songs like the Kaiser Chiefs' Oh My God (sung by Lily Allen), The Charlatans' The Only One I Know (sung by Robbie Williams), and The Zutons' Valerie (sung by Amy Winehouse).

It is awesome.

And I totally loved Record Collection as well. I only recently learned he had an album prior to Version, but it's mostly hip-hop type collaborations and did absolutely nothing for me.
