Radiohead Release Name of New Album

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Kid A is a great album. U2 are still the best band in the world but the world of music would be a hell of a lot shittier if Radiohead was not around. They are a great band and most U2 fans will know that like U2 themselves know it!

Or perhaps the author was joking that NO ONE cared about those three releases and was joking that most people didn't know about them.

Perhaps, but not really. I remember reading that piece about four years ago.

anyone who discredits radiohead as shit, doesn't belong anywhere.

radiohead kick just about everyone elses ass these days. and yes, that most certainly includes u2.

There are times when it is more important to feel "self-important" than "important". That time is called middle school.

Radiohead need to step up and write some songs. HTTT was and will always be shit. Pretension is no reason to not finish an album or a song. U2 learned this with Pop (I love Pop, but it certainly needed work - that doesn't mean changing the style but refining what was done), and I hope Radiohead have learned it as well.

Come on Jonny you're the man!

But when you are too timid to speak up in real life you often become a key board warrior.....

hahaha

see? now THAT'S funny. because you don't know one single thing about me in real life, but there are LOTS and LOTS of interferencers who do, and each and every one of them would tell you that whatever i decide to type on this screen, i would absolutey say to your face.

and that i would probably even get more enjoyment out of it that way.

First of all, "you" can often be read as "one" as in the indefinate. If you identify with my statement so be it.

Second of all, you're so fun when your angry.

"you" can also be typed as "one" if that is what you mean to say.

it was my post you quoted when you made the statement.

also, i was hardly angry.

but you keep up the good work, dalton. you're doing FINE.

Yes, I am doing well. Thanks.

(see the secret is that I don't take this place that seriously .... and exhale.)

dalton, i highly recommend you stop talking to her right now. there's nothing more that i'd like to do than verbally rip you to shreds if you keep talking to her like that.

you don't have a clue what you're talking about, and your ignorance is pissing me off.

lmao

you've got to be kidding me. again, I have not said anything bad about her.

is the name of the album "We're going to make lesser quality music than we could because if we make the music as good as we could we might be played on popular radio and godforbid that ever happen because then someone might say we're sellouts so instead we're going to make weird music that is still pretty good because we're a pretty talented group but it won't be as good as it should be but people will still listen to it because it's allegedly interesting"?

Well? Is it?

headache, radiohead's music isn't even remotely challenging. if you want challenging music, i'll give you a hundred other artists who are less polished.

I have their albums up to and including OK Computer, after that, they lost me. They can be real good when they get the songs right.

My biggest issue with them is they're so depressing/full of anxiety I can only listen to them in small doses and very occasionally.

I also think it's amazing what some forum members get away with.

This is lamer than an 86-yr old dude's tool after running out of Viagra prescription during a long holiday weekend.

honestly, you should probably ask yourself what you really know about when a band such as radiohead, gets a song right. no offense or anything, but you even admitted you only have half their albums.

There's no way anyone's gonna convince me that Radiohead hasn't gotten any songs "right" since OK, Computer. Just, no.

Well I don't think I could name a hundred, but I could name a few, eg:-

Sonic Youth

My Bloody Valentine

Future Sound of London

Radiohead have much better lyrics though, Thom Yorke's lyrics are as good as anything that's out there IMO.

you just mentioned future sound of london. :|

ha! that's incredible, you're the first person ever...since me to do so.

which album do you like the most? favourite songs, etc?

Oh jeez to be honest I only have the Lifeforms album, and Papua New Guinea on a compilation CD.

Papua New Guinea is my favourite I guess. Really interesting videos as well.

papua new guinea is my favourite song as well, and it's probably their most accessable too.

i have ISDN and the papua new guinea translations EP. ISDN is awfully harsh...in truth, i've probably only listened to it in its entirety three or four times.

dead cities is also pretty good apparently. isn't 'we have explosive' on there? that's pretty mainstream stuff by their standards anyway...

Yes Papua New Guinea is probably the closest they've done to a radio friendly track. You have to be in the right mood to listen to that kind of music. Not sure about dead cities, must check it out.

I really dig the actual song, 'Dead Cities'. Dark song.

But yeah, 'We Have Explosive' and 'Papua New Guinea' are classics.

either of you have 'the isness'?

that's by fsol isn't it? or is that by amorpheus amogonous whatever the hell it's called...

Ohmigod now there's three of us on here. Well Bono always said U2 fans have the most intelligent taste in music!

i think if you read this thread from start to finish, you'll violantly disagree in a hurry...
