That's the key word: beautiful. The whole album is like a beautiful painting. I also think it's also the warmest-sounding record they've done...Weird Fishes/Arpeggi. Actually, that one starts out warm and lush, then amazingly switches gears...still trying to decipher it.

Pitchfork's review

"It's up to you
No Really, it's 9.3"

In Rainbows seems like the album Radiohead have been trying to make for the past 10 years.

That's not to say that Kid A doesn't deserve it's classic status, but there is so little experimentation on this album. It's like a coming together of the 50 odd songs Radiohead have released over the past 10 years.

It's all about the songs.....

It's also a very poppy album with some very catchy tunes.....

Wow...I've never known a Radiohead album to so blatently wear its influences on its sleeve. I'm hearing Beatles, Fleetwood Mac & Blue Nile references going on...but it's all good I guess.

Yep, it got a 9.3

I think we can officially say that EVERYBODY loves this record. And why not?

I've lost all respect for Metacritic, however. They've really dropped the ball this time out. They dropped the rating of one rather ambiguous review from a 70 to a 40(!), have two reviews from the same site, and still don't have the reviews from AMG, Pitchfork, Virgin Media, Christian Science Monitor, or Popmatters. Pathetic.

Pitchfork only wrote one line about All I Need?!

Shameful.

It's funny how they mentioned Reckoner slowly growing to become a favorite, which is kind of what happened around here for some people. I don't think it will ever take my #1 spot from All I Need, but it's currently wrestling Arpeggi for #2.

What I don't agree with is House of Cards being the "one weak link in the album's chain", or that Videotape somehow works in its anticlimacticness.

I really didn't expect anything less than 9.0 from them.

Anyone who expected any lower of a score from pitchfork (who have Yorke's cock firmly planted in their lips), needs a labotomy.

so true ...it's Radiowegivethomyorkehead for them...

though in this case, the praise is all warranted

So I watched some clips of 15 Step live on youtube for the first time... omg thom yorke's dancing makes me happy. i had no idea he was such an energetic frontman. someone really needs to edit those dance moves and put them over whichever rap song the kids are listening to these days so funny

Have you ever seen any clips from any Kid A-era performances? Thom looks like some kind of alien during Everything In Its Right Place and Idioteque

Very true!

Speaking of pitchfork, I'm curious to know how they would rate Achtung Baby and Joshua Tree.... any thoughts?

If you ignore their review of the Eraser.

Maybe it was just their time of the month when they wrote that one.
