Going good so far - only been here since early Jan. Weather has been much better than i thought - when its been really cold, the skies have been clear and sunny. Thats pretty cool and definitely beats the grey clouds of UK.

Just got to get out and see some more of the country - so far so good though

I wonder what would happen about things like your NHS number and National Insurance number if you ever moved back to the UK. I mean being born here you'd have them but living abroad for so long would you have to reapply? (Yes, I do think about random things like this all the time. I spent a lot of yesterday wondering about the Lancashire cotton famine of 1861-1865. I kid you not. Yes, I also think I am totally crazy, but I prefer the term 'engagingly eccentric' )

although i don't think i had a National Insurance number when we left, could be wrong though.

Great thread! I LOVE to talk about travel. I don't have a ton of time right now to post about this, but I'll give a quick overview.

I'm a dual citizen of Canada & the States, currently living in Vancouver, BC.

Places I've lived (other than the Vancouver area):
Seattle, WA
St. Paul, MN
Belfast, Northern Ireland

Canadian provinces visited:
British Columbia
Alberta
It's very sad that I've done so little travel in my home country!

US states I've visited:
Washington
Oregon
California
Idaho
Minnesota
Illinois
Hawaii

Countries visited:
England (London, Andover, Winchester, Salisbury, Portsmouth, etc.)

Ireland (many cities, but spent the most time in Dublin and Belfast. I lived in Belfast, so we were always taking day trips.)

Holland (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Scheveningen, Gouda, Bershenhoek)

Belgium (Antwerp, Brussels)

France (Paris)

Germany (Frankfurt)

Russia (St. Petersburg)

There are so many more places I want to visit: Italy, Spain, Greece, Switzerland, Japan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and the list is endless!!

States I've been to:

North Carolina
California
New York
Connecticut
New Hampshire
Chicago
Maine

God that is such a lame list.

In October, me and my bf are going to Vegas!

Manhattan's "Chinatown" is rather shitty actually. If you want good and cheap Chinese food, go to Flushing instead. No Chinese person I work with preferred Manhattan's Chinese food over it.

I'm going to France, Italy and Spain in June and July.

Has anyone been to Cinque Terre or the Amalfi coast (specifically Positano)?
