Ooh that's a big one that a lot of people need to do, including me! I've been shirking the gym for almost a month but that will hopefully change once I get into the regular routine next week!

1. Get back at the gym, lose that extra fat all over and become better toned.

2. Try my best to find a job back in Jersey. If it doesn't work, be satisfied with present job despite the long hours!

3. Make a concrete plan to visit parents this year!

4. Keep in touch more with friends in general.

5. Seriously research about doing a management degree/MBA. Get the hell out of manufacturing.

That will do for now.

My resolution: to make no resolutions.

Shape up, lose weight, cut the calories, try to have a more positive outlook on life, and socialize more

- To continue losing weight. I'm going to Weight Watchers and had lost 9lbs - gained 4.5 after enjoying all the Christmas festivities. Ooops.

- Do more exercise.

- Be happy.

- Finish this PGCE and be more organised. I've so much to do for university and now I'm starting to panic. At least it will all be over in May.

- Find a job - hopefully teaching.

- Be able to get a mortgage and buy our own house.

- Start planning wedding.

I have come to the conclusion that I'd rather set regular goals than New Year resolutions.
