mt. st. helens erupts!

she just blew her top a few minutes ago. just saw it on cnn. still looking for pics and news on the web...

it's just a small eruption so far.

I know they're horribly destructive, but I am fascinated by volcanoes. I get it from my dad - he was a geologist (once, camped on the side of Stromboli - which is an actively erupting volcano ) One of the best holidays ever was a Mediterranean cruise where we hiked up Etna and sailed past stromboli at night, watching it erupt

When I was 4 I wanted to be a volcanologist...it startled the teachers a bit back in the infant school...
