^^ i think you should start with chords, mate. every rock n' roll song is build around chords, and if you can figure out the chords to a song, tabbing out the riffs is easy.

can you explain?

when i was looking at some tabs some of them were written like this:

Am Fm# or somthing like that


i can only read the ones written like:

^ are you playing a barred F? on ZooTV Edge plays an 'open' F on the middle 4 strings, so switching isn't really that bad.

^yeah, it's wrong. on Rattle & Hum, Edge plays a barred C on the 3rd fret, and a barred F on the 8th fret. on ZooTV, Edge plays them like this:
