sometimes a music video can ruin a song for me i.e. interpol’s ‘evil’, but when done right, it makes me love the song that much more

u2 has never been a great music video artist imo (I’d love to see them work with a director like jonathan glazer or chris cunningham), but they have had some pretty cool ones…
some u2 favs are: even better than the real thing (first time I saw this, I thought it was the coolest thing ever)
mysterious ways
one (brown version)
stay

some of my fav music videos:
the clash – radio clash
air – kelly watch the stars, sexy boy
breeders – cannonball, saints
unkle – rabbit in your headlights
bjork – human behavior (her first, and one of her best), hidden place
nine inch nails – down in it
pulp – this is hardcore
supergrass – late in the day
orbital – style
pavement – rattled by the rush, shady lane
depeche mode – enjoy the silence
rufus wainwright – april fools
sebadoh – ocean
beck – devil’s haircut
the doves – there goes the fear
jon spencer blues explosion – 2 kindsa love
blur – beetlebum
gus gus – believe
lo fidelity allstars – battleflag
pj Harvey – down by the water

in other words, if I could pick which videos would be playing on mtv’s old show ‘120 minutes’, those would be the ones id choose
I do some videotape trading, so I get to see a fair share of videos heh

Both very, very strange, freaky videos, but yet both very, very cool ones, too .

Speaking of strange videos...I also like the one for Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun", even though the demented grins the people make in the video freak me out somewhat.

I've only seen a very small portion of "This Fire", but I do like the "Take Me Out" one . And on similar musical terrain, I rather like the video for the Killers' "Mr. Brightside".

LOL, well, hey, if we're going down that path, then my vote for favorite video based on looks would be "Desire" .

Agree wholeheartedly with this as well (still haven't seen the "Sometimes..." video, yet, though).

I am a strong supporter that The Talking Heads' "Once in a Lifetime" is the greatest music video ever created. Great pick!

. Peter Gabriel makes some really funky, good videos .

The Talking Heads one, I get a kick out of it, 'cause, like I've said before, David Byrne looks like he's having a seizure in it. Although I found out recently that Toni Basil actually did the choreography for that one, so she's behind his bizarre dance.

"Burning Down The House" is another good video by them.
