And now, just because it's kinda still my birthday by standard forum time, we arrive in Dinosaur Cove. This is a small nook in Victoria's Otway coast, in which fossiliferous rocks of Early Cretaceous age are exposed. Well, they were exposed, then they had to tunnel into the cliff to go after them. Equipment from a mining company was used, which in turn sponsored the dig. In addition to naming dinosaurs discovered there after their children, the supervising palaeontologists named one Atlascopcosaurus loadsi.

Hypsilophodontids were the most common dinosaur found there, little knee-high herbivores. Tom was really looking for mesozoic mammals, though, and he found some, so Yay.
