Please vote for the tracklisting you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the first heat of the fourth round of the Interference Desert Island Game III! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.

In the fifth heat of Round 3, LemonMacPhisto barely held on over Axver, taking the heat by a single vote, 8-7. Axver still receives a point for finishing within four votes.

An update on the standings will be made available at the end of the fourth round.

To start us off with Round 4, angelordevil looks to make up ground on LemonMelon, who is currently running away from the rest of Group 2. Below are the tracklistings.

If you don't know the songs, or wish to hear how each tracklisting flows, leave your e-mail address and we'll help you out. :)

From Apathy to Ascension, or "What I Think About in the Shower"

It's hard to ignore the darkness that surrounds us all at the moment. Whether it's global warming, the "War on Terror," or Aids in Africa, we're living and breathing in a time of heartache. Where's the hope? It could be right around that dark corner. It could start with electing the right politician, coming up with a brave new idea...or simply by sharing a bunch of songs that truly move you.

I wanted my tracklist to reflect a kind of arc...with an eventual exit point into something great. That "great" thing could be spirit, friendship, life after war, meeting aliens...love. I'll leave it up to you to decide.

Hope you enjoy!

Hello. First off, let me thank you for reading this little explanatory paragraph, and, more so, for listening to my playlist. I crafted it over the course of 3 months, and it shows. I made sure there was as little fat present as possible, and it was more for your enjoyment, rather than mine because, left to my own devices, this list would be an extremely lengthy, navel-gazing mess rather than the tight aural analysis of my personality that I intended it to be. Or perhaps I’m looking too much into this. That wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Now, you may be ask, “is there anything in particular--a concept, a mood, a statement--that you were going for with this list?” The answer is, quite simply, no. My list mostly scrapes the more friendly, sane side of my personality; I wanted something very accessible and enjoyable to be available to you all. In this tournament, I think that artistic statements are best left to those who think they are capable of making such statements within the rules we have been given, and I do not think such a thing is completely possible. So, as a result, I decided to run through my record collection, picking out my favorite songs by each artist, and then I whittled it down to what you see today. Segueing was important to me, and I am quite proud of some of the transitions I was able to come up with. So enjoy yourself. I really want you to!

This is the toughest match of this group. I'll have to think about this one for a little while. :hmm:

Vote against AoD simply for using a track from the hideous U2:18.

No, seriously, I'm going to have to think a bit on this one too.

if you wanna get technical, that edit of New Year's Day was first on the best of 80-90

Yeah, but he sourced it from U2:18. Put the heathen to vote-death!

This is tough but at this point it almost comes down to who you believe should go on in these last two rounds. I have to go with Angelordevil for that reason. I think he deserves a spot in the quarters while LemonMelon has probably clinched a spot already. Both playlists are great. Best of luck to both of you through the rest of the game.

That does bring up a good point. When will the updated point spread be up from the last round?

After 3 Rounds:

Group 2

LemonMelon: 9, 3, 0, 40, 22, +18.
PlaTheGreat: 4, 1, 1, 20, 20, 0.
angelordevil: 3, 1, 1, 23, 17, +6.

Bonos_Lemon: 0, 0, 2, 11, 30, -19.

hmm... now that's interesting.

So it's really another Pla vs. AOD heat.

So, I clinch a spot if I keep it within 3? I think that's how it would work, due to tiebreakers...
