The legend of the formation of the E Street Band set to music? With excellent sax solos by The Big Man? How could a Springsteen fan not be a fan of Tenth Avenue Freeze Out? Beats me.

it's blasphemous, i know. it was one of my favorites a couple years ago (because i'm a newbie springsteen fan), but i overkilled it. :sigh:

intro to backstreets rules in a big way when one's head is literally sandwiched between the speakers.

but it rules without doing that...i don't know what i'm talking about.

His songs are like little passion plays.

They are often compared to little movies set to music.
My God, his lyrics ... and his music ... just incredible ...

Okay, Night just finished for me.

Now I'm hearing the intro to Backstreets ...

They are, on this recod especially. Of Mice And Men in 4 minutes.

there's a melody subtlety that i never noticed on the "You could hear the whole damn city crying" line that just sounded really cool.

damn, this song is great.

Now the build up.

Hiding on the backstreets...
Hiding on the backstreets...
Hiding on the backstreets...
Hiding on the backstreets...

i think i'm getting better sound with my computer speakers than my headphones. my headphones suck. these speakers are pretty decent.

OK, I've got the headphones on and I turned the volume way up and we are headed toward the end of Backstreets. I'm risking major ear damage but I don't care.

and the end of Backstreets, when he repeats hidin' on the backstreets over and over while the band plays ...

and then he starts screaming ...

Just past that...how many times does he say that line?

baby we were born to ruuuuuuuuuun!!!

alright, i listen to a lot of hard, aggressive music that makes springsteen sound really weak and poppy, but this song rocks harder than 99% of the socalled hardcore songs that i like.

all rise for the Springsteen fan national anthem (and Bruce's favorite song): Born to Run

tramps like us, baby we were born to run

1 2 3 4!!

the highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive...
