You people wonder why I'm an asshole. 5 pages. How am I the first to mention this?
The quality of the vocals alone get this album up there among the greats, not to mention the lyrics and the BASS.

And the "holy trinity" of songs:

What's Going On
Mercy Mercy Me
Inner City Blues

I mean, come on. Come on.

Made it onto my entry for the next Desert Island game. THAT is a wonderful song. The other two are just as good, but the subject matter alone makes it my favorite.

You could include this one as well:

"Wild One, Forever" just breaks my heart.

I am The Kinks, but you have strange taste, my friend. What about Lola vs. Powerman or Muswell Hillbillies?

Loved Act 2 also, though I agree with LemonMelon about Lola vs. Powerman.

Got to see the Presevation Act 1 tour, but all I remember of it was Ray being sloshed and wearing that goofy jacket shown on the cover of Act 2.

Nice to see the pics of these two again POP-ROMANCER

Of course I love Lola... and muswell hillbillies. That are great albums too. But I absolutely love the story on preservation. The whole concept of it is fantastic. The most funny thing is the final elbow where Flash meets his soul, just typically Ray's humor.

Mirror of love
Oh where oh where
Money talks

I also think these are the last great Kinks albums. A soap opera is good but not great, and well, after that it doesn't meet the standards of Arthur, VGPS and lola...
