Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon / Meddle
Sigur Ros - ()
Radiohead - Ok Computer / Kid A
U2 - Achtung Baby
The Verve - A Storm In Heaven
Nick Drake - Pink Moon
Jeff Buckley - Grace / Mystery White Boy

with regards to songs..probably All Apologies/Where Did You Sleep Last Night from Nirvana-Unplugged...Song For My Sugar Spun Sister never sounds quite right without Elizabeth My Dear winding down on Stone Roses..its hard to imagine finishing How To Disappear Completely without Treefingers following..Jeff Buckley's cover of Hallelujah without So Real beforehand

I would be denying a great album if I didn't mention:

Who's Next
... even the original album, although short, is a great composition to listen to... Baba O'Riley, Won't Get Fooled Again... where can you go wrong?

... disturbing, but like a Radiohead album... in that you have to listen to the whole thing to appreciate it's intricacies...

Whenever I make a mixed CD, I always want to include something from my favorite record Tori Amos' Boys For Pele but I am always unable to pick a song because the record must be heard from beginning-to-end to make any sense and pulling one song out just never works for me. There are a couple that work on their own, but somehow I am never satisfied unless I hear it all the way through.

besides *any* U2 album, natch, and London Calling, some of my "listen all the way thru" faves:

the first Big Audio Dyanamite album;
Led Zep IV;
any album by Morphine, esp. 'Like Swimming';
Waterbone - Tibet;
Aria I
Michael Hutchence' posthumous solo album
Pink Martini - Sympathique
Loreena McKennit - Book of Secrets
anything by Beck!

and SO many more.... music

while i don't feel the need to listen to unforgettable fire in its entirety, two songs that must be played together:

- unforgettable fire
- promenade

...then you might as well play 4th of july.
