I was wondering if anyone had heard of Aqua they are the next best thing next to U2. When ever I ask someone if they have heard of them they say huh, who, wha? It gets annoying.

I have heard of Aqua and I actually like them. They are an odd-looking Danish synth-based quartet, one girl and three guys. "Barbie Girl" was their big hit a few years back, and I like several songs on their first album. They are catchy, entertaining and fun. BUT- the next best thing to U2 they are not IMO. That doesn't mean they aren't good, it just means there is a lot of room in there between them and U2's greatness.

I belive they have split up. They released a best of album about a year ago and kind of reunited for the Eurovision song contest this year.
Next best thing afer U2??? Aqua is one of the silliest, most childish thing that have ever happened to the musicbusiness. I mean, just take the lyrics to Barbie Girl (not to mention even write a song with that title)
