I think that was in U2 At the End of the World. *gets book off shelf* :nerd: Yes, here it is, with the preceding paragraph included because the story about the Japanese masseuse cracks me up:

Bono's in a crappy mood as he checks into the Park Royal Hotel and heads toward his room. He turns on CNN and L.J. Ferentz, the tour's masseuse, comes in to rewrap his twisted ankle. Bono is pretty much oblivious to her ministrations. He is usually uncomfortable around masseuses. In California a Japanese back-rubber started screaming at him, threw him off the board, and pummeled him while screaming "Relax! Relax!" There are also New Age tendencies among many in the profession that are at odds with Bono's Christianity.
"They're often into reading auras and all and I have no time for it," he once told me. "Also, for some reason they always see a bright red aura around me and start freaking out. One woman started bowing to me and calling me Your Highness or something."

Someone said in a U2 forum many years ago said that Napoleon supposedly had a red aura and that it's a sign of power. I agree with Bono about all that New Age stuff.

To me, it's much much more than just the physical. The physical is just a bonus.

Any news if any members of U2 were at the Grammys last night? I just got up and have no idea.
 
It's great that we're getting back to the subject. I just want to make clear that my comments were intended as hyperbolic humor, not lasciviousness.

I'm not suggesting that all men are harboring a secret Bono boner. But... certainly Bono has made sexuality as significant part of his performance persona. And at least where I live, straight male anxiety about accidentally doing, feeling or thinking something "gay" is still alive and well. So, I do think that whether its gay fear, inadvertent attraction or erotic envy, that may have something to do with the level of vitriol among die-hard U2 haters. I hope that makes sense. Now- is anybody having luck with the Grammys?

As for the 'argument'. Perhaps she's Brazilian but LIVES in France now. Maybe models there? The band spend time in France. It would all make sense to me.

She is Brazilian and I believe she lives here in Sao Paulo, since Adam was here in Brazil at least twice in the last year, and now this time, for Carnival and
art exhibition.
Mariana is not a model.
She is director of the art gallery, Hauser & Wirth, here in Sao Paulo.
