UK Outdoor Shows

An interesting point was made to me last week when talking about U2's Uk shows next year.

It seems that all are going to be outdoor stadium shows.Venues and dates rumoured so far being Dublin 26th,27th June Twickenham 2nd July.

These are early dates for outdoor shows in the Uk every outdoor gig ive been to in the past has been mid August at the earliest. The point being on the dates being mentioned it will not get dark untill about 10.30pm as it at the height of summer.

Has anyone out there been to shows this early in the year?
How did it affect the light show and atmosphere of the gg?

When U2 played Cardiff in 1987, it was July. No problems at all with lighting/atmosphere (best day ever, in fact). And the new Millennium Stadium has a retractable roof, so they could always make it darker if they wanted to. That's assuming that they'll play Cardiff this time, of course...
