People,

Do not fear, while they have only announced Oct 7, 8, 10 as offical dates thus far, it has been WIDELY RUMORED going back to early January (check the boards for when the first leg dates were announced), that U2 is going to play at least 5 shows at MSG (initial dates mentioned were Oct 7, 8, 10, 11, 14) and possibly as many as 9 garden dates....

These rumors are obviously not BS as the Oct 7, 8, 10 dates mentioned back in january proved dead on...so just keep the faith and also if you need further reassurance, just check the calendar of announced dates there is a huge window of time between the last announced garden show and the first announced philly date.

So bottom line, when tix go on sale for the 3rd leg garden dates, you will see additional dates pop up for sale as soon as the initial 3 garden shows sell out.....it is going to happen just like additional dates popped up for other venues on the first leg after sell outs.....

See you at the garden :)

Uh, no.

U2 is not going to play 12 shows in 15 days. Just because a date is "open" on the itinerary and the band is in the neighborhood doesn't mean there will be a concert.

Boston isn't going to get any more dates, but Providence might be added later. MSG is 10/7, 10/8, 10/10, 10/11, and 10/14.

Tour schedule might look like this:

9/12, 14, 16, 17 - Toronto
9/20, 21 - Chicago
9/23 - Minneapolis
9/25 - Milwaukee
9/27, 28 - Edmonton
9/30 - Winnipeg
(This would tie in with the rumors of September shows in Edmonton and Winnipeg that have been going around. This makes the most sense).

10/3, 4 - Boston
10/7, 8, 10, 11, 14- New York
10/16, 17 - Philly
10/19, 20 - DC
10/22- Pittsburgh
10/24, 25 - Detroit (I don't Detroit deserves to have 2 shows, but whatever)
10/28 - Houston
10/29 - Dallas (I think Texas deserves more than 2 shows)

11/1, 2, 4 - LA
11/5 - Vegas
11/7, 8 - San Francisco
11/13, 14 - Miami
11/16 - Tampa
11/18, 19 - Atlanta
11/22, 23 - Possible Boston/Providence shows, but maybe not.
11/25 - Ottawa
11/26, 28 - Montreal

12/1 - 5 - Possible extra New York dates in this time frame
12/7 - Hartford
12/9 - Buffalo
12/10 - Cleveland
12/12 - Something will probably go here.
12/14 - St. Louis
12/15 - Omaha
12/17 - SLC
12/19 - Portland (I just can't see a 2nd show like some think, but maybe...)

U2 could easily sell out 8 shows in NYC, and 4 in Boston for this fall leg. You better believe they are aware of this. If they feel the potential is there, and if they have open dates, they'll more than likely do it.

Boston will get a third date and MSG will get 5 shows.

They will not play Providence. It makes no fiscal sense to disassemble and reassemble everything to move 40 minutes south.

Okay how would Bono be able to do five nights in a row at MSG without having no voice by day four. He can't do that many in a row. I can see 4 nights with a day off at MSG but not 5.

Also keep in mind that they are not playing Continental on this leg so everyone who would have gone to those shows will try for MSG. It is still going to be tough.

Texas deserves more than two shows definatley. And there
is a 4 day gap between detroit and houston. Why not add a
show in san antonio.

I think 3 Toronto shows

No more Boston shows

5-6 NY shows

And 4-5 shows in Los Angeles plus Las Vegas or Oakland.

Let's hope.....it's another show in Chicago !!!!

( With Dec 10 in Ohio, and Dec 14 in Missouri... this "is possible" for U2 to "come back" to Chicago for one more show.....
after having " only 2 " previous dates for the 3rd leg. )

I hope they consider this. It seems only 2 shows would give us Chicago fans a harder time to get tickets for the fall leg (before they sell-out).....

Toronto is getting four shows, I have a very credible source telling me this. But then again there might not be demand........yeah right, its U fucking 2, the biggest band ever.
I'm just hoping I can get tickets to all the nights. GA's

Six nights in a row? Never going to happen. U2 don't even do three in a row if they can avoid it. The last time they did 3 was 5-7 February 1998 in Buenos Aires. There were a few incidences of 3 in a row on Lovetown, but if you want more than three in a row, I'm pretty sure you have to go back to War. They played eight shows in seven days to open the War Tour and then ten in ten, plus a TV appearance, on the first leg of that tour.

Re: Boston. Rumour had it a short while ago that Boston was getting three shows, I think it was 31/09, 01/10, and 03/10. So maybe they will actually play four dates in Boston, 31/09 and 01, 03, 04/10.

Actually, they did three in a row on the Elevation tour:

November 18, 2001: Las Vegas, NV @ Thomas and Mack Center
November 19, 2001: Los Angeles, CA @ Staples Center
November 20, 2001: Sacramento, CA @ Arco Arena

and the last 3 shows of the tour:

November 30, 2001: Atlanta, GA @ Philips Arena
December 1, 2001: Tampa, FL @ Ice Palace
December 2, 2001: Miami, FL @ American Airlines Arena

I remember being worried, since the Sacramento show was my last U2 show, I figured they would be dead tired (since they flew in that very afternoon from LA) but the show was AMAZING! More energy than some of the other 8 Elevation shows I went to!

But I totally agree with you that they will not do 4 in a row!

You'd think that as I have bootlegs of some of those shows, that I would have noticed ... :reject:

Thanks for the correction! :)
