This thread will be limited to 23 songs... the first 23 songs posted will be the official setlist for the imaginary concert. Please try to be creative and "dream it up again" à la U2 circa 1989.

I'll start:

1. The crowd could not contain their excitement; they were at the imaginary concert. Suddenly, an organ was heard; at that same moment, a heron was seen flying flapping its large wings in the distance as it flew somewhere. Suddenly again, the organ melody became discernable. It was the familiar intro to "Fix You". The crowd could not believe it, they looked at each other in shock. Suddenly Bono appeared and sang "When you try your best but you don't succeed...". He sang right up to the chorus when suddenly the guitarist from Coldplay strolled in from the backstage area... Before long Chris Martin also appeared to sing the climax with Bono. "Tears streamed down everyones' face"... the imaginary concert was to be extraordinary.

Oh come on...just playing around!!!

It didn't come across as being playful, especially with the response it ellicited.

Sometimes, it can be hard to discern humor online, which can make it difficult to moderate. But if we just let some comments slip by and reprimand other people for other comments...it's not fair. We just try to be as fair as possible.

2. Everyone cheered, mostly because they didn't know the difference between U2 and Coldplay and assumed they were the same band, so half of them came to hear "Fix You" anyway. Suddenly, an explosion sound came from the loud speakers. Everyone looked around in confusion. A platform rose from the center stage and there was The Edge, holding a guitar in on hand. His other arm was actually a giant laser cannon, since The Edge is obviously a robot. He jumped down from the platform. Levitating with his robotic powers, he glided over to where Coldplay's guitarist who apparently doesn't have a name that anyone cares about was. Using his infamous Gibson Explorer, Edge smashed the head of Coldplay's guitarist, causing him to be knocked unconscious. Simultaneously, he shot Chris Martin in the chest with his laser cannon. An image of Abe Lincoln appeared on the giant screen on the stage, giving a thumbs up. Everyone gaped in awe of the awesomeness that had just appeared before them. Edge retracted his laser cannon and bitch-slapped Bono. Bono got mad and they had a big fight on stage over who was the alpha male of the band. While all this was happening, Larry got a haircut. When Bono saw Larry with his new hair out of the corner of his eye, he got real upset, claiming that Larry was just copying him. Adam told them all to quit being morons.

Then, they played a bitchin' cover of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."

Upon reading the above, I thought "Hey, this could be a cool thread..."

Then for some strange reason U2 decided to open a show with Coldplay's "Fix You"...???

In the spirit of "dreaming it up again", I propose this thread be locked and a new, more feasible "imaginary concert" thread be created in its place: one where each post adds another song to the setlist, describing what's going on while the songs are being performed (just like this thread proposed), except this time, I don't know... maybe U2 could stick to playing U2 songs?
