Best of Live 8 to Air on XM Satellite Radio Beginning July 9

WASHINGTON, July 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- XM Satellite Radio, the nation's leading satellite radio company with more than 4.4 million subscribers, will encore the best performances and interviews from XM's comprehensive LIVE 8 coverage with "LIVE 8 Replay Weekends."

Beginning on Saturday, July 9, XM will air all-star performances from LIVE 8 concerts around the world and exclusive, backstage interviews (including some previously unaired interviews) along with commentary from the XM on-air personalities who covered this historic musical event. The LIVE 8 Replay Weekends will devote 48 hours every weekend in July, from 12 midnight ET on Saturday through 12 midnight ET on Monday, on XM LIVE (XM Channel 200).

"The LIVE 8 Replay Weekends will provide XM subscribers with plenty of opportunities to experience anything they might have missed the first time around from XM's comprehensive radio broadcast coverage of more than 55 hours of live performances across seven channels," said Eric Logan, executive vice president of programming for XM Satellite Radio. XM's LIVE 8 Replay Weekends will feature performances and backstage interviews from Barenaked Ladies, Black Eyed Peas, Bob Geldof, Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Crosby Stills and Nash, The Cure, Dave Matthews Band, Destiny's Child, Dido, Elton John, Green Day, Jay-Z, Joss Stone, Kaiser Chiefs, Keane, Keith Urban, The Killers, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Maroon 5, Paul McCartney, P Diddy, Pink Floyd, R.E.M., Rob Thomas, Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Teegan & Sara, U2 and Velvet Revolver, among others.

Also during July, XM channels across the platform will feature "LIVE 8 Artist Takeovers." Broadcast uncut and in-sequence, listeners will be able to hear LIVE 8 performances from their favorite artists on their favorite XM channels.

These LIVE 8 specials are part of XM's month-long celebration of live music. "JULIVE" runs throughout July across the XM platform with exclusive live performances from XM's massive live music archives.
