The album is set to end up in the mid-20s in the UK charts this week

Irish charts will be out tomorrow at midday

Ireland:

NLOTH #6 (from #3 the previous week), U218 singles #25 (from #19 the previous week)

Italy:

NLOTH stays at #2

Magnificent moves up to #44 from #48 on the Top 50 singles chart, while GOYB moves up to #46 from #50.

On the official italian airplay chart Magnificent moves up to #8 from #12 the previous week.

magnificent new on radio 2 b-list, usually songs enter as new on the C-list, so this is looking good, although eminem is also new on the B-list. so hoepfully NLOTH will start to rise the charts to at least top 10 in the coming weeks. perhaps as NLOTH has only sold ~ 300k there is more potential for the album to rise back up the charts. Though with HTDAAB 900k were sold just with the release and vertigo. i was expecting sometimes being a #1 and with a tour and COBL being a big hit also that bomb would have gone on to sell close on 2M copies, so maybe we can't rely to much on 2nd, 3rd, 4th singles to bring in the album sales.

Eminem's album is due out middle of may and looks to be using the increasingly common method of being released the same time as the second single.

Does anyone haev access to Dutch weekly or total sales figures? Very nice holding at 3!

Hits 7 995 with 37% in. If it follows suit as to the last few weeks 30000 sales is possible for the week and maybe a sign of the sales levelling out.

there's an easter boost, in case none of you noticed.

Well, then how come these albums did not get an Easter Boost?

Excluding debut's of which there were 14 in the top 50, nearly half of the albums declined in sales from the week before!

I've never heard of an Easter Boost. My guess would be that most people who get gifts on Easter are young kids (at least in the US - I don't know about traditions elsewhere), and I doubt they'd be getting the album. Is there really such a thing?

You should know better. Most of those albums have only been out a week or two and therefore the usual steep drop outweighs the Easter boost. If NLOTH was only in its second week, it would have seen a decline despite the Easter holiday.

The Easter boost generally affects pop music a lot more than other genres. Taylor Swift flew up the charts this week thanks to it

Actually, half of those albums have been out for 3 weeks or more as you can see above. 3 of the albums have been on chart for 5 to 6 months!

I'll have to go back and check to see if POP got an Easter Bump.

Besides last weeks' debuts experiencing usual drops, the rest of the top 20 had gains or very little decline. And considering U2 was dropping 30%+ every week before this, those declines that maoilbwhatever listed aren't that bad.

And of course, he totally ignored gains of near 100% by Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood, significant gains by Kelly Clarkson, The Fray, Nickelback, pink, britney, etc., in other words artists that people usually snap up on a holiday. Which means U2 actually underperformed this week. As usual.

Come tomorrow, billboard will be reporting a huge spike in sales across the board compared to last week, helped by Rascal Flatts as well as Easter.

Ok, even the third week normally sees steep declines. Didn't NLOTH drop about 40% from week 2 to week 3? Twilight is "new" in that it's in its 2nd or 3rd week since the DVD release.
