Via Chicago is very representative of what the band does best imo. Jeff's voice emerging softly out of the dissonance is one of the best things they achieve!

It's great that they've been playing their earlier stuff. I saw them twice this year, but both times they didn't play anything from before Summerteeth.

No, they played at the Wexner Center-Mershon Theater.

I saw Wilco in Omaha last week and nearly passed out during the Being There+Casino Queen encore. Plus they played Too Far Apart and Via Chicago. Sure, there are songs that I wish they would've played (I really wanted to see Company in My Back and they started playing it again the next night ) but I can't complain. It was awesome.

Company in My Back isn't all that outstanding live, imo. Good song, though.

I don't think they've ever played Via Chicago when I've seen them.

That's good to know. I don't have Kicking Television (it's always so damn expensive) and haven't downloaded any boots so I could only imagine it being mindblowing. I'm guessing they don't use the dulcimer live?

Company in my back is pretty average live, but Via Chicago is stunning.

Austin City Limits tonight, 11/3. Check your local listings.

Preview here, of Impossible Germany:
http://wilcoworld.net/acl/index.php

(I still think this song is one of their most adult contemporary "Dad rock" boring songs ever but it's certainly better watching it live and Nels is awesome.)

And you gotta love a band that reminds their fans via mailing list to set their clocks back tonight. :warmfuzzies:

I moved to an area with several PBS stations. I found one that's showing it late tomorrow night. Good thing I got a DVR with my cable this time.

I think Impossible Germany was placed far too early on SBS. I like it, but not right after the first two songs, which I love, and before Sky Blue Sky. It would've worked better later in the album, switched with Hate It Here or Walken, IMO.

I have a great picture of Nels as my current wallpaper

Taped a mere two blocks from my apartment.

I'm kind of disappointed I got to go to John Mayer's ACL taping last week but didn't even get close to seeing Wilco's. I woiuld have offered my firstborn (when it arrives in the distant future) for it.

But I'm DVRing it since I'll be at Fun Fun Fun Fest all weekend. Also DVRing Feist on SNL tonight.

While I am not even close to finalizing my best of 2007 list yet, listening to Sky Blue Sky again suggests that this album will be on the list.

Sadly, my only Wilco live show was roasted and rather wasted in the Bonnaroo sun. I'd like a chance to see Wilco again at a proper show.

I'm so there. I'll buy the tickets for my mom's birthday (Feb 20). She'll be so excited.
