oh dear.
computers make music too, you know.
dont get me wrong, i dont care if you like the song, the album or radiohead at all. but this mentality is a bit worrying.

lol...

Kid A (the song) was a grower for me... Once I got my head around it though it's probably one of my favourite tracks from that album...

Admittedly, I thought of the song as filler for years. I don't think I even realized the "voice" was actual words until 2003... There was a fine gentleman by the name of Heads On Sticks who used to post here who won me over to the song a bit more (from choosing lyrics from the song as his screen name and from promoting the track). I have a beautiful version of the song being performed in Berlin in July of 2000, I'm not sure if there is video of that performance or not, but it's worth looking into, as it you realize it's all being performed on actual instruments and such. May get you a little more into the song.

I've had it for years, and I still don't like Kid A.

Wow, the quality on that video is amazing. I think they went a bit crazy with the zoom though.

I didn't even know Youtube did high quality videos. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

So apparently Bjork is releasing a single next week with Thom doing backing vocals. All of the money they make on the single goes to some environmental cause in Iceland, I may have to purchase that.

Wow, I always thought they were ripping off Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata on this song (listen to the opening guitar part), but now I realize it was probably through Lennon's Because, which was the Beethoven piece inverted.

Maybe it was an ode to Oasis?

No, not really. It was mostly due to months of sitting around, putting it on whenever I wanted something to play in the background. Eventually, I just got...erm...used to the songs. It's strange. I thought it was the most overrated album ever for the first few plays, but now I don't know what I would do without it. It's just a damn fine album, one of the best of the decade, and I've gotten more plays out of it than most. I wouldn't put it above OK Computer, even after all the time I've spent with it, but that doesn't diminish its own, unique positive attributes.

Kid A (the song) will grow. It's not one of Radiohead's most brilliant moments but it's not a disgraceful song.

Extraordinarily, John Mayer covered it.

Yes, John Mayer is extra ordinary.

That's amazing!

And I'll say it again, I loved Kid A all the way through on the first listen, and I still love it on every listen. I never skip a song. I traveled a lot the year it came out so I listened to constantly through headphones in airports and on airplanes, over and over and over.

I can't bring myself to watch the John Mayer clip.
