The John Tree
War Child
This is such a shame because I thought they were finding their groove again. Around The Sun was godawful, but I thought Accelerate and Collapse Into Now were both good albums. They'll be missed.
same here....that was my exact thought when I heard about this earlier today.
We're so self-centered, arw.
New Adventures in Hi-Fi

How about your 10 favourite songs with a brief explanation why it is your favourite?
Country Feedback - One of the most emotional songs I've heard, largely thanks to Stipe's delivery and Peter Buck's beautiful guitar playing. The live versions present the apex of R.E.M.'s career.
Begin the Begin - Basically the same thing as These Days. These two should go together all the time. One of their most memorable guitar riffs.
New Test Leper - Brilliant lyrics, Stipe's best performance since the I.R.S. years. New Adventures in Hi-Fi is a wonderful album, which leads us to...
they are one of the best rock-bands. I probably like 30-40 songs.
Jeez, you're a tough customer.
I love Nightswimming. What album is Country Feedback on?
Wasn't the point that they had financial success but felt irrelevancy was an imminent threat? R.E.M. was further down that path but I'm sure the news will still dishearten Shuttlecock.
