My Morning Jacket 6-10-08

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Highlights so far:

Evil Urges
Touch Me pts 1 & 2
Sec Walkin'
Aluminum Park
Smokin' From Shootin'

It's a tad too mellow/conventional in the middle, I think.

The middle does get really slow. They should have closed out with Look At You.

Highlights for me:

Evil Urges
I'm Amazed
Thank You Too!
Sec Walkin
Librarian
Look at You
Aluminum Park
Smokin From Shootin
Touch Me I’m Going to Scream Pt.2

Highly Suspicious is a fun song, but should have just been a B-side played live. That song just makes the album take a hard left.

This album is beautiful. Smokin' from Shootin' knocked me back a little bit the first time I heard it.

The pathetic thing is that these guys opened for three of the Pearl Jam shows that I went to a couple years back and I spent their entire sets outside on the concourse drinking beer with my buddies and discussing which songs we wanted PJ to play.

I am now officially pissed that I did that. Oh well.

Yup, they're one of the best openers I've seen, and 70% of the arena was empty, the rest made up of PJ fans who wouldn't stop complaining and being impatient long enough to notice MMJ...being awesome.

I downloaded a .rar of the leak a couple weeks ago, but when I went to open it, it needed a password, and I haven't looked for another since. All I've heard is Evil Urges, and I guess now that we're a month away I can probably wait it out.

Didn't you at least think to check them out once?!

All three times I watched them come out and perform about one and a half songs and then I would get too jittery and too anxious for PJ so I had to get up and walk around and grab a beer. Weird, I know. They opened all three of the sets with Wordless Chorus, I believe.

I really think MMJ will be in great position to open up for U2 next tour, especially if U2 tours in 2009.

These guys are one of, if not the best live rock acts in town.

August 24, here I come.

I'm going to bump this motherfucking thread.

I think this has become my #1 album of 2008.

What do you guys think?....

Really fun to seem tonight, shows that they can still put on a great show even when they have to rein in the jamming.

I haven't seen this yet.

So they played Highly Suspicious, Evil Urges, and I'm Amazed on SNL?

Either way, I am glad this is turning into the year of the Jacket.

Cover of SPIN, best breakout act 2008 according to Rolling Stone: I am so glad to finally see this band getting all the respect it deserves.

June 10 sits sweetly on my horizon.

Then late Friday the 13th at the roo, and then, hopefully, my 41st birthday in Chicago.

I still don't understand the RS Breakout mention since it was in early April, before anything from Evil Urges had been heard and they're not really any more known now than they were with Z, I think that album reached the most people, now they've got more publicity on this so they have better people working for them and EU most definitely has the potential to go bigger than Z but it hasn't yet.

They were on SNL tonite. Meh. :|

Maybe if they had performed a live rendition of that Andy Samberg garbage "Lazy Sunday," you would have liked it.

Some people shouldn't be allowed in B&C.

Who would tell us what is now playing though?

You've gotta think of these things, impy.

Thanks, I really liked the performance of "I'm Amazed" and glad to get to see it again.
